Hi everyone,
My inlaws live in Arizona, and rather than sending my mother-in-law the usual array of fresh flowers (her two daughters did that anyway), I'd like to do something different.
For my mother (who lives out of state also), I have a friend who owns a florist, and she puts together gift baskets - cheese, crackers, cookies, fruit - stuff that older folks like.
I'm now looking for something for my mother-in-law. I considered going through www.spoon.com (http://www.spoon.com) (one of my favorite sites), but thought I'd ask if anyone out there has favorite websites for sending food-related gifts.
The only restrictions are that my father-in-law is diabetic. I know, it's for the moms, but they do share!!
Thanks for any advice you might have.

My favorite for food gift baskets is A Southern Season, their website is www.southernseason.com. (http://www.southernseason.com.)

SandyM - I just checked out your link to American Spoon Foods and realized I used to buy their products when we lived in Michigan but had forgotten all about them since we moved away. Too funny! Thanks for the reminder.
I like http://www.stonewallkitchen.com. My personal favorite is the Sundried Tomato Mustard - it's excellent! They do have plenty of items that would appeal to a simpler palate, though.

Well, Peeps already mentioned, A Southern Season, also my favorite. (And, if you ever needed a reason to make a trip to Chapel Hill, NC, it is worth the trip simply to visit the store!!!) A second favorite would be www.harryanddavid.com (http://www.harryanddavid.com) . Gina

Gosh, well I was going to mention A Southern Season, too, but it's already been mentioned twice! I really loved going there when I was in school -- so much fun!

HI!! My all time favorite place is Wolferman's. They make the most delicious english muffins I've ever tasted. I have been sending them to friends and family for at about the last 9 years. Some people don't care for cookies and sweets. Wolferman's makes both savory and sweet. They are delicious for breakfast, with tea or coffee as an afternoon snack. I eat the savory ones for lunch. This gift is great for just about anyone. Everyone loves them so much they reorder for themselves. They make 12 different flavors, savory and sweet. They are low in fat and low in cholestrol and certified kosher. Sometimes ordering online, you get special discounts. www.wolfermans.com (http://www.wolfermans.com) or 1800-999-0169. I know you won't be disappointed.

I forgot to add to my previous post. My husband is also diabetic and he's fine eating a muffin for breakfast or lunch. Happy Ordering!!!

I discovered Stash Tea via this BB and have used them for many gifts. Their prices are reasonable and I've been very pleased with their service.

Well, the first thing that came to mind isn't exactly diabetic-friendly. I take that back -- they have cheese! The company is Maple Grove Farms of Vermont. I believe their website is maplegrovefarms.com. They have delicious pure maple candy, syrup, and other products from Vermont. Let me emphasize that the candy is fantastic. I'm sure it has a ton of calories, but I don't know because I don't think about it!

Well, Sandy, you've already found one of my favorites in American Spoon Foods!
Seeing as you're from Michigan, I'm sure you're already aware of Zingerman's (www.zingermans.com) in Ann Arbor. That's another of my favorites - I think I could survive on just a diet of those two stores!

I hear ya about ASF, Ralph - their Wildflower Honey is the best, and I love their Fruitperfect Marionberries on fat-free vanilla yogurt. mmmmmmmmm I'm thinking of that right now..........
Anyway, I've been to Zingermans dozens of times, but I didn't know they had a website, and I certainly didn't know they shipped out. Thank you for the information!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I used to live in Ann Arbor, and I sure do miss Zingerman's. Actually I miss pretty much everything about A2 but the weather!
I've used Zingerman's website to send Christmas gifts and haven't had any problems.
Now, if I could just get them to send me a chicken salad sandwich on Challah http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Leonard I have a question! I logged onto Wolferman's site and wanted to order a couple of packages of muffins, but all I can find is sampler packs and gift tins! I don't want to try all of them, just want to order a few of the ones I know we want to try. Is there a trick to this website to ordering just one package of this flavor and one package of that flavor? HELP! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
