My fondness for the 2 Moosewoods I own (Cooks at Home and Low-Fat Favorites) led me to buy the New Recipes from Moosewood from Amazon, sight unseen. Thank goodness it was a used copy, so I didn't pay full price. I am disappointed with it. I understand that the recipes have been updated, but it's still too old-fashioned for me... For instance, there are like 3-4 recipes for "stuffed" things, and more tofu than you can shake a stick at.

Unless anyone can give me a good reason why I should keep it, this one is headed for Half Price Books. It's in mint condition, too!

I know what you're saying, makedah. I love the Cooks at Home and from the praise of a friend and bb friends, I bought the Low Fat Favorites. Then I bought Sundays at the Moosewood Restaurant and am a little bit disenchanted by it.

I'm such a goofball -- I just realized that the book you're talking about is not the one I was ranting about. Sorry!

I actually do have the one you're referring to, though, although I must admit I've not used it much. I've seen quite a few I'd like to try, but since I have all of them, my attention has been elsewhere http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif I personally wouldn't give up any Moosewood book, at least not without trying several of the recipes, but if you really don't see anything that appeals to you, I suppose there's no reason to keep it -- everyone's tastes and preferences are different. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Don't get rid of it just yet. I have the 1987 version (did you get the revised one?) On page 28 in mine is one of my favorite soups, Potage Jacqueline. It's awesome. Creamy Squash Soup was great, Burritos were yummy, Moroccan Stew was excellent. It's also one of the few Moosewood books to have fish recipes. The Carrot Applesauce Cake was also great.
