Rev: Blueberry-Chipotle Chutney Aug 2005

Ok, first think I wanna say....I did a search on this forum for "blueberry" and it said "sorry, no matches." How can that be? I see a thread requesting blueberry recipes on this same page!

Anyway, sorry if this has been reviewed. The chutney is fabulous! Honestly, it tastes just like the sauce from that popular Blueberry Chicken recipe that someone posted on this board a while ago...was it valchemist? I would know for sure IF THE SEARCH FUNCTION WORKED! LOL! The only difference is the smoky chipotle taste. But the chutney has a good tang from vinegar...I might add a teensy bit less vinegar next time. The chipotles also add a slight heat. I have been serving it over chicken...and I love a sprinkling of feta cheese over the top of the dish. YUM!

Anyway, just thought I'd share since blueberries are so cheap right now.

I made this a couple of days ago, and I'm reserving judgment on the flavor because I think I got too much chipotle in it! Kind of takes over all the other flavors.
I've never made chutney before, and couldn't get this to thicken while it was cooking, as stated in the recipe. It did thicken up a bit after cooling and refrigerating. Adrianna, did you have the same problem?

Thanks for the review! I just got my new issue yesterday, and when I looked at the index, this one immediately jumped out at me. Of course, anything with "Chipotle" in the title usually does. ;)

Suek-It is funny...I don't know why I chose this recipe...I find chipotles to be overwhelming in many recipes. I just knew I was going to make some chicken thighs, and blueberries are cheap right now..PLUS...DH is on a blueberry kick right now. I am glad I tried it...it is very "different."

CLaddict-I meant to mention that...it defintely did not thicken like other chutneys I have made.

BTW...I did not get any email notifications for this thread. I hope they start doing the email notifications again!
