HELP! What's with the search function??

I'm so frustrated. The search function doesn't work at all for me. Way back in 2001 I did a "Spanish night" and I made a sangria that was fantastic. I found that thread (only by searching by my own name and going through every single thread I ever started, but I remembered what I titled that thread, luckily). Anyway, the sangria recipe I used wasn't in that thread. When someone else asked me for the recipe, I posted a link to it that now no longer works.

Then I just tried to find it myself (it was a cook's illustrated recipe) by doing a search for just plain old "sangria". NO MATCHES. No matches?? For the word sangria? From anyone at anytime? I know the threads are there, but I can't get to them!

Does anyone have that old Cook's Illustrated Sangria recipe? I really need it! Thanks so much! (And Jennifer, PLEASE fix the search function!!)

Just wanted to say that I posted on another thread that I've had the same issue. I can get threeads I posted to going WAY back, but a simple food term gets "no matches." VERY frustrating. :eek:

My plea for help from Jennifer earlier today suggested that there are still bugs in the system which they're working on, so I suspect the search function is part of it.

As for the dead links, yeah, I hate that.... every time we have a format change that happens. What really bugs me is being one of the old-timers here, I remember all these great old posts from 2000 with so many great recipes, and now unless one of us remembers them and somehow dredges them up, they're dead and buried. :(

I printed a copy of another thread on which you posted the recipe. Thanks for posting it, btw, it is a great sangria recipe!

OMG, Kim!! Thank you SO much! You saved my whole evening! (What's left of it, anyway!). I had fully intended to come home (we were out to dinner), kick back and read the whole evening (I'm in the middle of Harry Potter!), but instead I got a phone message from a dear friend begging me for that recipe - she needs it for tomorrow. I have been searching huge piles of printed out recipes (collected over the years - I thought it might be in there - no luck) and searching every thread I ever started - but that was getting me nowhere as well. :( You TOTALLY saved the day! Thank you, thank you! Off to copy and paste this to an email to her (and I'm going to print it out too - what would happen to me if I didn't have this board anymore?? <shudder>

Thanks again, and I sure do hope they get that search function fixed soon - I absolutely rely on it for so many things!
