I was thinking about sending the new editor of CL a congradulations card on her new job. Or maybe a letter to let her know that she is doing a great job at being the new editor. What do you guys think? It may sound strange, but I am the type of person tell someone congradulations when I don't know the person.

Matt,

I think that's extremely thoughtful, and I'm sure she would be very pleased to receive your congratulations. CL seems to pride itself on its relationship with readers; I certainly think your note would be appropriate http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Matt-

In the business world--that's standard practice (or at least it used to be before email......). That's a very good way to:

1) be nice
2) make contacts in the world

I'm impressed you thought of it.

Kristi

In my opinion, an expression of gratitude is never wasted!

It is a good idea, especially since I think CL has made some good changes over the 2000 series. (what the heck was that one-page section they tried on how to dance and hit a softball? remember that?)

Also....it might help put you in the running for the kitchen makover contest ;-)

Good idea. Feedback is very important in keeping us on track in our work and positive feedback is just as important as negative feedback. Balance is the key in all our lives. We all appreciate a well deserved compliment.

Well said, DM. As a teacher, that rings so true. I try to send home notes & call home when something GOOD happens, not just when something bad happens. I think a lot of people take too much time complaining and not enough time complimenting!

I think it is a very sweet and thoughtful gesture and not silly at all. Bless your kind soul, Matt. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
