My husband and I really enjoy a good cup of coffee and we would love to try Seattle's Best. Your sales pitch in another thread sold me! Big question, though, is where do we find it in Kentucky?

Hi Pat!

Sorry for the sales pitch on the BB - I just love the product I sell, I can't help myself! As far as distribution in KY, I don't know right off the top of my head, and the offices are closed for the weekend, but I will make a phone call and find out for you on Monday. We have no salesperson in KY, so I know it won't be all over the place, but I'm sure there will be a few places that will have it. As RobinC pointed out (thanks Robin!!), you can get it from the website as well.

Curleytop, Seattle's Best Coffee is a specific brand, like Starbucks, and is not the same as the Seattle Coffee Roaster you refer to. We have no distribution in either Costco or Sam's, so Pat, you won't find it there.

Thanks for your interest, guys, and I'll let you know on Monday Pat! Have a great weekend.

I live in Portland and travel to Seattle every week, both are filled with Seattle's Best. They do make a good cup of coffee. It looks as though you can order off their web site. http://www.seabest.com/site/

Have you tried Costco? In the Costco in Torrance, CA, they have a Seattle Coffee
Roaster right in the store and they roast if fresh every day, and sell it for $6.49 for a two pound bag. You can grind it there or grind it as you use it at home. I always get a couple of bags, then I vacuum pack them with my foodsaver in 1/2 gal Ball jars.
You might even try SAMS, I don't go there any more. Would you believe those 2 monster stores are next to each other in the same block http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/cool.gif

Grace,

I checked out the web site and that is probably the best bet for those of us who live the simple life between the lakes. Which of the choices do you recommend?

Thanks a bunch!

Grace, can you tell me where I can buy Seattle's Best up here in Victoria? I have seen it in Vancouver but not over here on the island. Thanks- it is great coffee!

Bumping this up so maybe Grace will see it and reply to which of the coffees she recommends.

Hi Pat - thanks for reminding me about checking on this for you.

As far as which ones I recommend, well, that's entirely subjective....what kind of coffee do you like? Really dark roasted? Really light? Something in between? Something sweet and light? Something smokey or "winey" maybe? We really have so many options, without knowing your tastes, it would be hard to recommend something.

I got word on where we have distribution in KY, and, as I feared, there really isn't much. I also don't know where in Kentucky you live, so if you know of Books A Million (there are three - Louisville, Owensboro and Paducah), they serve our coffee, but I don't think they carry our beans (but maybe they do, I could be wrong). Also, Kentucky Bread Bakery in Lexington serves our coffee. Those are the only places. Sorry about that!

And Kima, I checked on Victoria for you, and it looks like a grocery store called "Mac's" carries our 12 oz bags of beans. Good luck finding it you guys, and don't forget, there's always the website!

Thanks for the info Grace! Mac's is a convenience store like seven eleven!!
Actually I was in Vancouver today and darn if I didn't walk right past a Seattle's Best cafe on Granville St. Of course I bought some coffee. I bought 1/2lb. of the Seattle's Best and 1/2 lb. of the organic Decaf. I look forward to trying one of them in the morning!

Grace,

Thanks for checking on this for me. We live in a small community in south-central KY between two recreational lakes (life's hard), but my husband has meetings quite frequently in the larger cities so I am on the go a lot with him. I will check in Louisville, Lexington, Owensboro, or Bowling Green. I will also check out the web site.

We prefer a lighter roast.

Pat, if you like a lighter roast, I would suggest then either the Colombian (one of my favorites), or just regular Seattles Best Blend. You will like either of those for sure.

And Kima, our organics are fantastic. You will be happy with that choice. My favorite of all of our coffees is the Grand Central Blend. It's darker (but not burned like Starbucks), and has Kenyan beans in it, which have a "winey" taste to them. It's bright and full and I drink it just black. Completely unadulterated! Come to think of it, I think I'll go get myself a cup from the kitchen right now! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
