This is the recipe

http://food.cookinglight.com/cooking/display/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=549927

The caloric information matches what I have that was printed in the magazine. But when I either add it up by hand, or use mastercook the numbers are pretty off. Am I calculating something wrong or did they?

When I entered it in Mastercook, this is what I got:

Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 232 Calories; 4g Fat (16.4% calories from fat); 3g Protein; 47g Carbohydrate; 5g Dietary Fiber; 10mg Cholesterol; 155mg Sodium. Exchanges: 2 1/2 Grain(Starch); 1 Fat; 1/2 Other Carbohydrates.

This is what Cooking Light says:
NUTRITION PER SERVING
CALORIES 234(27% from fat); FAT 7g (sat 3.1g,mono 1.9g,poly 0.9g); PROTEIN 21.6g; CHOLESTEROL 142mg; CALCIUM 108mg; SODIUM 615mg; FIBER 2.1g; IRON 3.3mg; CARBOHYDRATE 21g

Now the FIRST time I looked at the recipe, it was about 140 calories per serving... something odd is definitely going on. I looked at the reviews for this recipe, and when I went back, the nutrition info had changed. Weird! I think somebody else had mentioned that they noticed this going on ...

Still - the calories between the two match up, but the distribution between fat/carbs/protein is way off for the CL version. I seriously doubt that this recipe has 21.6 grams of protein per serving. So it's still wrong - and I can't get those numbers to come up again. It's back to the 140 cal/serving.

The actual magazine page says 140 per serving as well. Thats why I am confused :) When I fresh the page I linked to it showed 310 per seving  so something is funky there!

My Mastercook analysis matches tholbrook. I'd go with what Mastercook says, not what the recipe on the CL website says.

Now, inquiring minds want to know . . . why are you looking at a sweet potato recipe in August??
