Howdy Y'all.

Can I ask how many of you found this place due to the special on the Food Network? I never knew there were such things as cooking clubs\supper clubs and all the different types even.

Look forward to getting to know y'all.

I think that there are enough of us who are willing to start a club.
I live close to downtown.

I'm interested. I live around 1604 and Judson. I have been thinking about joining a supper club or book club. I saw part of the food channel program and thought why not?

I did see the Food Network Special on Supper Clubs a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't aware it was such a big trend, but loved the idea. So far there are 8 of us on this thread. That seems like a good number to get things rolling. What ideas do y'all have about the type of club you'd like to be a part of? Looking forward to this new experience.

I guess I will tell yall a little about myself and hopefully we can get something started. I am 27 and have only been cooking for about a year now. I have always been interested in learning new recipes and trying new foods. I saw the special on the Food Network and thought it seemed like a great way to make some new friends and try new foods. Anyone that is interested can email me at mcr3378@aol.com and maybe we can talk more about setting something up.

Hi All. Instead of just talking about it, let's set up a time and date to do a supper club! I'm new in town, my husband is in the Air Force, and I need some new friends!! Email me @ TomaraBCope@msn.com or just write on here. We could all meet at my house (even though I do live on base so my house isn't real big) or we could meet at some one else's house! This could be like a weekly or monthly thing... like a girls night out, or if our husbands want to join (mine doesn't) then they can join as well. Let's get this supper club going! It'll be real fun!

A little on me, I'm 24, been married and cooking since I was 21 and I'm starting Culinary School in 2006. I love to cook and love to throw dinner parties!

I can't wait to get this supper club going!

How cool to find this thread tonight. My husband and I love watching the Food Network and really want to start cooking together and trying new recipes. I've been thinking for awhile now, how neat it would be to join a cooking club or just to get together with a group of people who share the interest. I don't know if plans have been made already but I thought the site's suggestion of meeting up at a restaurant or a place like Starbucks was a good idea. Well I really hope this thing takes shape, it sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Looking forward to hearing from you. Fascinate_Me_@hotmail.com

Hey everyone!! I have received a couple of emails about a supper club and people wanting to get together. Is everyone ok with maybe meeting at a starbucks one day soon and talking about things and getting stuff figured out. Do we want it all girls, couples, etc? How often? Hosting the dinners? Things like that. My schedule is pretty open to any times as so whatever works best for everyone else would be great. Anyone else that is interested can email me or post something up here and we can get this rolling. Talk to everyone one soon.

Quarry is kind of far for me... is there one off 10 somewhere, near Huebner or De Zavala, that wouldn't be but about 30 mins from where I'm out. When would be a good time for everyone? During the week or on the weekends? What times are good for ya'll?? Let's get some answers so we can set up a time!

Hey y'all,
My name is Rae and I am a 33 y.o. teacher who loves to cook and who loves to eat more! Will you (whoever the brave soul is!) use the bulletin or our emails for posting when we get started? I am not very techie, so I don't know the protocol. I have received Brooke's and Linda's emails.
Thanks, Rae

Hey guys,

How about we meet at Jim's on San Pedro next Friday night(October 7th) at say, 7:00? We could have dessert, get to know each other, and figure all this out. There are so many of us, we may be able to divide up by location, age, or whatever. What do you all say? My e-mail is Linda.Gosch@sbcglobal.net, or you could all post your replies here. I just think we could discuss where to meet forever, and never get anywhere. I'm open to other places, times, and days. We all have different schedules and things going on, so I hope somehow we can work this out. I think once we meet, and decide how we want to run our club, it will be smooth sailing.

How about the Jim's on Culebra and 410? Oct. 7th at 7pm. It's right off the highway, and I don't know where everyone else lives but I know for two of us that's a middle point. We could do the one at San Pedro though, doesn't really matter. We just need to make a decision and make sure everyone knows about it. So far I've only talked with three of you, so I'm not even sure that the other people are really interested... Let me know either on here or email me.

Talk soon,
Brooke

Hey Brooke, are you talking about the Denny's at culebra and 410? Also, I'm not sure which Jim's on San Pedro, but Brooke, if you wanna swing by my house I don't mind driving out to San Pedro if that happens to be more convenient for everyone...the 7th at 7:00 works for me :).

Hi,
I'm Judi, I just joined this evening, and I'm very interested in joining or helping to start a cooking club. I'm 43, live in Encino Park (281 just north of 1604), have a 12 year old son and 14 year old daughter, and have been cooking since I was in my teens. I love to experiment with recipes--but try to stay on the light side.

Unfortunately, I'm going to out of town on business on Oct. 7, but would like to be kept in the loop about what you all decide. Just drop me a line at judifree@hotmail.com.

Hey guys,

There are 2 Jims on San Pedro. One is at the intersection of San Pedro and Hildebrand. (inside the loop). The other is 9950 San Pedro. Just outside the loop. Either is fine with me.

How about the one outside the loop? It's about a mile or two in, on the right at Ramsey and San Pedro next to Diversions arcade. The Old San Francisco Steak House is just up a ways.

I'd be interested in participating in a supper club here in San Antonio as well. I'm 29, in education, and live in Northern Hills. It sounds like there are a lot of people interested! That's great! I can't make the October 7th meeting but if you decide to split the group into 2 and have enough room for another person, could you let me know? You can email me at amyjacobs1@satx.rr.com. Thanks! Amy

Hey everyone,

How about we meet for dessert? But if anyone wants to order dinner, of course they can. I can't believe we finally have this figured out!!!!
To anyone else who wants to join up, meet us on Friday, or e-mail one of us that you would like to join. The more the merrier.

Can someone tell me exactly where this Jim's is located. I think I've seen it before when I lived up off NW Military and would drive to San Pedro, but that was back in Jan/Feb and I never make it up that way anymore. Thanks!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm Jennifer, 28 years old, married, and I live on the Northwest side of San Antonio off of I-10 at De Zavala. I love to cook and often experiment with new recipes so I think being part of a supper club would be a fun experience. If there is room left, I would be very interested in joining this club. Unfortunately, I will be out of town and won't be able to make the Oct. 7th meeting. My e-mail is jenjay99@hotmail.com - please e-mail me with more info after you guys get stuff figured out at the meeting.
