Does anyone have any tips for cooking for a crowd? I am planning a graduation open house for about 75 people. I want this to be a special memory for my son. I have never had this many people for a party and I'm nervous! Any ideas for great food and/or avoiding disasters? THANK YOU!

As luck would have it, I happened to be cruising the search mechanism just moments before your message popped up and remembered seeing these two threads which may help:

Since you're new here, let me take a moment to explain-- in the 11 months the current board has been up and running, we've amassed a TON of information-- not just this board, but in searchable archives as well. If you try running a search on a key word such as "crowd" or maybe "appetizers," you'll come up with a ton of ideas besides those I'm sure people will give you here. Running a search on the archives will give you even more suggestions.

Welcome and good luck with your endeavor.

THANK YOU! It's reassuring to know of some websites to go to for help. (I'm starting to feel the cold fingers of fear that I've gotten in over my head!)

This is THE place for fast, friendly help nhmom!!

When I think of large crowds to feed, I personally think 'catering' http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif! Seriously, for alot of people I think of Italian food (lasagna and lots of it!) or hams and turkeys. Sorry I'm not much help but good luck and welcome!
