View Full Version : ISO of a great punch recipe!
Hi All! I'm throwing a baby shower for my bestest friend this weekend and was thinking I should make a yummy punch for a drink. I was wondering if any of you wonderful cooks out there could share a punch recipe that would be fairly easy and wonderful to drink? Thank you all in advance! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

My favorite is really easy. Put in some OJ and than scoop in some sorbet. Pour 7up over the sorbet. You can also spike it with peach snapp.

Here's a favorite of mine that I got from a friend:
Ben & Jerry's Punch
1 liter gingerale
2 cans grape juice concentrate or passion fruit concentrate (diluted)
1 tub Ben & Jerry's Purple Passion sorbet
Mix together in punch bowl. Enjoy!
*Optional: I've frozen various berries in an ice ring with water and used that to float in the punch. You could also just add fresh/frozen berries to the punch.
You could alter this recipe by substituting a different flavor of sorbet and a juice to go with it.

I remember posting a "punch" recipe awhile back, but I can't find the thread http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif. I love this one and hate to admit- it's a TSR recipe from Todd Wilbur and his version of
"Houlihan's Houli Fruit Fizz". You can adjust the amounts to what you need; this makes 2 servings. Good luck with your baby shower! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Zinnia

This is my favourite:
Berry Punch
2 cans frozen raspberry juice concentrate
1 can cranberry coctail concentrate
1 can frozen lemonade concentrate
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (or more for extra tang)
2 (12 oz) cans ginger ale
4 (12 oz) cans club soda
1 bottle rose or white wine OR 1/4 cup vodka (OPTIONAL)
In a large bowl, combine frozen concentrates and lemon juice. Let thaw - mix well and refrigerate until needed. (I let the concentrates thaw in the refrigerator and them mix them together).
At serving time, add the carbonated beverages and wine (if using).
Serve with lots of ice. Makes about 16 cups.
Note: you can use any juices. If you cannot find raspberry juice on its own, you can substitute 3 cans of a cranberry / raspberry blend for the first two items. I just use whatever size the juices come it - no measuring needed.
I also like to make an ice ring (use a tube pan or mold) and place berries, lemon slices, etc. along with some water or juice, and freeze. It looks pretty when floating in a punch bowl.

I made this last month and it will fill up your punch bowl, with just a little left over.
1 liter Hawaiian Punch
1 liter Sprite
1 large can Pineapple Juice
Mix together. I serve with a fruited ice ring. For showers on occasion, I float rubber duckies in the punch.

Fruit Punch
Serves: 12 to 15
1 can (12 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cans (12 ounces each) lemon-lime flavored soda
12 ice cubes or one 1-quart ice mold
In a punch bowl or large container, combine the orange juice concentrate and pineapple juice. If not serving right away, cover and refrigerate. Just before serving, add the soda and ice cubes or ice mold.
Note: You can use flavored ice cubes and almost any flavor fruit juice.
Tropical Froth
Serves: 6
1 can (6 ounces) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
1 can (6 ounces) pineapple juice
1 liter ginger ale
2 cups rainbow sherbet
8 ice cubes
2 lemons, sliced
In a punch bowl or large container, combine the limeade concentrate and pineapple juice. If not serving right away, cover and refrigerate. Just before serving, add the ginger ale, sherbet, and ice cubes and garnish with the lemon slices.
Note: If you don't have rainbow sherbet on hand, go ahead and use vanilla ice cream
Thank you everyone for your posts! All of those sound wonderful! I also love the rubber ducky idea foodiedelite. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif I will be doing that one for sure!! Thank you again everyone! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

here's a punch recipe i make and get raves reviews on:
1 12 oz. can frozen o.j. concnetrate
1 12 oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate
20 Cups of water
4 Cups of sugar
1T almond extract
1T vanilla extract
mix all of the above and then freeze in various containers, (remove from freezer so the mixture thaws a little, you want it to slush up in the punch bowl)
Pour 2-3 2 liter bottles of 7-up over the mixture.

Here's my favorite. It makes a ton but it always is consumed.
OPEN HOUSE PUNCH
6 bananas
1 can (12 ounces) frozen orange juice, thawed
1 can (6 or 12 ounces) frozen lemonade, thawed
1 can (46 ounces) pineapple juice
3 cups water
1 cup sugar (omit if using 12 ounces of lemonade)
4 2-liter bottles chilled ginger ale
Mash bananas in blender with small amount of orange juice. Combine with remaining orange juice, lemonade, pineapple juice, water and sugar. (You will either have to do this in batches in a blender or in a really big bowl.) Mix well. Pour into containers that fit into punch bowl (I use Cool Whip containers). Freeze until firm. Two hours before serving, place frozen mixture in punch bowl. Add ginger ale (I also do this in batches). Add vodka, white wine, or champagne, if desired. Makes A LOT!
