My Pastor shared this email with us. This is from our associate Pastor.
Jimmie- I was able to get in touch with Alan and the crew in Pascagoula and things are pretty desperate. They have no one there helping with any type of relief. The team did meet the pastor of First Baptist Church in Pascagoula. People are walking around in total shock- Alan described it as shell shock. They are just dismayed at the destruction. He said it was like nothing he had ever seen and that there was plenty of work to do NOW.
They need supplies, they need workers, and they need clean up people (because the window is so short to get carpet and things gutted from the houses that are left standing). First Baptist Church is feeding thousands of people each day, but they are overwhelmed - completely overwhelmed - and have issues of their own. They need people.
Our group is praying about where to adopt a town, and are heading to Biloxi in the morning and then back this way tomorrow evening.
As soon as they get back and we can download, we need to immediately mobilize small groups with key leaders in each group to take relief to these people. Water and dry goods are needed - clothing big time - and laborers. It is frustrating for them to see the need and lack of help. It is time to launch Personal Peace. Let's rally the troops and take the goodness of the Lord to the streets - Scott
Just wanted you to know what is being done in my corner of Virginia. I have posted this for those who are looking for ideas. If your Pastor would like to contact my Pastor, please feel free to PM me and I will supply his email address.
May God richly bless each of you who do something for this cause!
