View Full Version : Addition to Mom's Spaghetti Sauce recipe!

Forgot to mention this, so if anyone out there copied the recipe and is planning to make it, please note:

This sauce is not extremely thick. The way my Mom makes spaghetti is to cook and drain the pasta, return it to the cooking pot, then pour the sauce over, mix, and let sit for about 5 minutes. The pasta will then absorb the excess tomato juices.

If you portion the pasta onto plates, then top with the sauce, you will get some excess liquid. If I plan to do this, I will either add a few tablespoons of tomato paste to the sauce as it heats, or serve with crusty Italian bread to soak up those delicious "juices".
