The Blueberry Crisp is absolutely fabulous! Unfortunately we could hardly stop eating it! I am looking forward to making it with cherries and other berries. The J/A magazine seems to have mostly desserts -- seems like old times!

Question then for you, Elinor... what's good about it?

I know that's going to sound harsh, but I'm one of those people who avoids (familiar) recipes if I already have a good one, and blueberry crisp seems like one of those things. I would have to have a motivation to try it. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Thanx for humoring my oddities.

Lorilei,

Don't consider it harsh. Thats a good straight question. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif By the way, I received my issue yesterday and can't want to sit down and devour it!

lorilei--
i think elinor said "seems like old times" meaning... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif CL is back to their old ways of focusing on desserts even though many readers ask for 'more meals, less desserts'. i agree because i only try a dessert about once every other month...but they are always fab! i can't wait to try the crisp!

Lorilei,
I know there's lots of recipes for berry crisps out there but I thought the topping was especially crispy and good on this one and very low fat. The seasoning in the berries was also delicious. If you have a good recipe, by all means stick with it.

And yes I did mean back to all desserts as it used to be. It seems like there are more desserts than anything else in this issue. At least more than entrees, veggies, etc.

Just what I wanted to hear -- a crispy topping!! The best part.

Thanx!

I can't wait to try this. I got some blueberries from the Amish this morning. I was going to try a peach and blueberry cobbler, but you've convinced me to try this cover recipe. We love blueberries. Anything made with them would probably be good to us.

I agree with ElinorC the Blueberry Crisp was fabulous. The topping was very crispy without being to hard. I liked having all the dessert recipes in the July issue. I love desserts and these recipes use lots of the great fresh fruits that are available now.

We're having some friends over for dinner tomorrow night and I'm definitely making the blueberry crisp for dessert (I'm going to make it a blueberry and peach crisp). Thanks for the feedback, ElinorC -- I might not have tried this recipe otherwise!
