My husband and I just moved to Exton, PA a few months ago and would like to start/join a supper club around the area. Any leads? Please email me or post here! Thanks very much!

Hi there, my husband and I would be interested. We were previously in a supper club that started on the Cooking Light website and really enjoyed it. We would love to get involved again. We live north of Exton in the Eagleview development (Downingtown address but really north Exton). Let's see who else posts, hopefully we can get something going!

... yes, hopefully others will be interested in starting one. I'm working on selling the idea to some friends! FYI, we're both 30, no children, eat most meats, love all cuisines. Just wanted to give you an idea in case you have set criteria. We live in Thomas Meeting on Waterloo blvd... I imagine it's not too far from your place.

My husband and I are both interested in joining a supperclub. We live in Philadelphia and are willing to commute anywhere to meet new foodies. Our email address is annandjay@comcast.net.

I'm going to jump on this one as well. My husband and I just moved into Paoli, actually moving in this weekend and we would love to join a club. I'm 29 and my husband is 28 and we love all foods. Paoli is about 6 miles or so from Exton on Rt. 30.

Hi again, It looks like we have enough interest to meet up and figure things out and start our supper club! Do you all want to meet somewhere (Barnes and Noble perhaps or any local spot) and get acquainted? Or maybe an appetizer get together to begin with? I'm up for anything.
FYI, we are in our early forties, no kids, one spoiled cat! We love all cuisines and enjoy trying new things. We are in a development that is just off Route 100 and the Turnpike (Eagleview).

... meeting to get acquainted sounds like a great idea. What is a good day/time for everyone? Anywhere is fine - Main St at Exton has Cosí, Barnes and Noble, and a couple of other places so that might be a good venue. I live in Exton but work in Lancaster, PA so I arrive home around 8.30 PM on weekdays, if anyone's up for meeting on a weekday. On weekends of course anytime is okay. Linsley, I imagine you're rather busy this w-end with moving, yes? I'm quite excited about this!

Yes, this weekend is a bit busy! Maybe next weekend? I can't believe you commute from Lancaster. I did Harrisburg for four months and that was all I could take! And I only got home at six!
I'm so glad we have some people!

... on Sunday, 2nd October at Barnes and Noble in Exton - 4 PM okay? There's a couple from Philly who're interested so I'll email that lady and invite her as well, once we settle on a time/place. How shall we identify each other? Have a copy of Cooking Light with us? Meet at the door? In the cooking magazine (not book) aisle?
Linsley, best of luck with the move! Yes the commuting's getting old rather quickly but it's the most logical arrangement currently.

I'm re-vamping my message. Our move got pushed up to next weekend. I think we will be able to make it but I hate to commit since I don't know what will happen. We're finishing up all the odds and ends this week with the house so we actually will be in the house just no furniture until next Saturday, which is why I think we can make the meeting.
At any rate, my name is obviously Linsley and the husband is Jamie.
I'm 29 and Jamie is 28.
I understand about the commute, you do what you have to!
Should we commence to emails so we're not hogging the boards?

Hi all,
I'm sorry that I have been MIA. My husband and I are both interested. Sunday 10/2/05 is OK with us. My name is Ann and my husband is Jay we are both 35 and love to cook, eat out at fabulous restaurants and travel. We live in the Northeast section of Philadelphia and wouldn't mind commuting.
Please keep me posted and we look forward to meeting you all.

Hi all,
Thanks for your interest in getting this club started. A few people asked whether this is women only or couples - I started the thread with the intention of a couples club and want to keep it that way, although singles (male/female) are most welcome - I'm glad that the responses thus far have been from interested couples.
Linsley, no worries if you can't attend - actually I haven't seen a reply here nor rec'd email from user "joannala" so I don't know whether she and her husband are still interested or can make it next Sunday. Ann and Jay are also interested in joining and will come to our first meeting. I'll put up final details of date/time later this w-end.. hopefully "joannala" will reply by then and can join us.

Wonderful!
Keep us posted and we'll try our best to make the meeting. Hopefully the Eagles play a later game! :D
I'm glad, too on the couple front. Jamie likes to cook as much as I do and we've been without a real kitchen for nearly a year so you can imagine our excitement of finally moving into the new house!

... next Sunday, 2nd October at the entrance of the Barnes and Noble in Main Street at Exton; how about 4PM? Is that amenable to everyone so far in our group? We'll be 8 including our husbands if all 4 interested couples can make it, or we'll be however many, in case some husbands can't make it. Either way, it's exciting to get this started.
My email address is vorapayal@yahoo.com in case anyone wants to email me, otherwise please post here if anyone has alternate times to suggest, etc.

Hi... we're currently 6 people in our club; more are welcome although we can really accommodate no more than 10 people. You mentioned that there are several interested people in your area... how many exactly? Please let me know so we can figure something out. Thanks!

There were 3 of us interested although you already have lindsleyd. The other one is robin4782 from Phoenixville.
Just let us know where the next meeting is and include robin in the response.
Also, is this for couples or singles? My husband would love to come along although he doesn't cook, I do.
Thanks for your response and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi SpringGourmet and Robin4782... yes, Linsley and Jamie joined as part of the initial activity... they're a great couple! At the moment we're 3 couples, but we never really decided to limit ourselves to a couples only club or anything exclusive of others. So you're 2 couples = 4 total members, or 1 couple + 1 single = 3 total? Please let me know!
I hope Robin's checking this as well.
