Hello - I saw your post about a cooking club in San Jose. We have an existing club and are always pleased to welcome new members. We meet every month or so except in the summer and have both singles and couples as members. At each event, someone volunteers to host the next event and establishes the date and later establishes the theme and menu and sends out an evite. We don't cook at the events unless its a dish that is best made at the last minute. Members sign up for and bring the dishes and we meet and eat and socialize and have a great time. Members bring their receipts and at the end of the evening, we divide the costs so everybody contributes equally. We try to do fun 'food' things. We've had several menus from the CL website, a pizza event where we made pizzas together and had little prizes for tastiest, most attractive and so forth, and we had a hike & picnic.
