Need suggestions for 18th birthday cake
I accidentally posted this on the Other Stuff section so i'm re-posting it here where it would be more appropriate. Sorry for the doouble posting.
My youngest daughter just began college in August and will be coming home for the first time since leaving in August, the week before Thanksgiving which coincides with her birthday. She's just begun feeling a bit homesick so I would like to create a really special and memorable birthday cake for her which I've traditionally done every year. She's very interested in and involved with the theatre so I was thinking of that as a theme (I was thinking of creating a cake that looked like a Playbill but need suggestions as to what it might say). She's also interested in travel, cooking and languages. I'm open however to suggestions about anything you very creative cooks/chefs might have.
I was also thinking of creating a cake that looked like her loft/desk at school complete with icing that looks like her comforter. When she was young, I once did a sleepover cake for her and her friends (you can find the instructions for this fun and amazing cake at the family fun website) that had little bodies made of Twinkies under an icing bedspread. It was a huge hit and her friends talked about it for the longest time afterward.
Thanks in advance for your help! Karen
