I've gotten such great ideas about cereal from this BB, so please help. I tend to snack on crackers, and so do my kids (Wheat thins, Ritz, Cheezits, etc.) I know the trans fat is really bad for you, although it's not on the labels. Any suggestions for something to buy without the trans fat? I did buy one box of low fat crackers at the health food store and it tasted like dust.
PS -does this belong on Great Food, or Healthy Living?

We like Akmak crackers--they are whole wheat with seasame seeds on top, and very yummy. Also, whol wheat matzos are pretty good (and I'm not even Jewish http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif)--they are made of only whole wheat flour and water (they taste great with cottage cheese on top). The low fat Triscuits are also delicious...I don't buy those too often though, they are entirely too addicting. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I second the Ak-Mak crackers -- just found them today as a matter of fact. I had my appetizer of Ak-Mak with Laughing Cow lite cheese and Hormel turkey pepperoni. Yum.
I also like Melba toasts -- tho read the labels, some are higher fat than others.

If you have a Whole Foods, they have a "triscuit" cracker with NO OIL in it. I also have another kind I buy at Kroger...Ill let you know tomorrow...too late to go downstairs now!
