Just wanted to give you a heads up. I spotted the June issue on the way out of my health club today (in downtown Chicago). It looked like they had just gotten it in the mail. It's got a picture of a chicken sandwich on it and it says something like "best chicken sandwich ever". I hope mine is in my mailbox when I get home!

Got mine in IN! Darn, it's Friends/ER night - but I don't watch the shows inbetween, so I guess I'll have some time to peruse....

Got mine in southern Indiana today, it looks great on first inspection. I'll sit down later and really go through and mark things to try.

Alisa,
Looks like you are a very welcome member to this board.
Whine then drink wine.....great I say.
I got my June issue yesterday so I can't whine do you think that means no wine?

Thanks Maizeyoats,
Sometimes I just can't control the attacks of silly.

I find that wine is good for stress and sorrow and champagne for celebration...lucky for me I prefer the cheap stuff!!!

STILL don't have my June issue and I'm at work so wine would be a little tricky.

DARN!

I wanted to be the first!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif Got mine just now. On first glance: Thai is the world cuisine and the 30 minutes or less is all pork dishes. The "in-season" fruit/veggie is green tomatoes.

I'm most enthusiastic about a story on recipes for garden bounty. They look really simple and pantry-friendly. (Where was this cucumber salad this past week when I was trying to gobble the cukes I bought!!!)

I'm not turning cartwheels about June because lots of it is unfamiliar to me. Had I still been an 'off-the-shelf' CL buyer, I wouldn't have chosen this issue. But since I have it, I'm looking forward to trying some new things.

As always, I'm laughing to hear all the different views on this board...

Maybe I'm just hungry or something, but I just leafed through this issue quickly and found that every recipe sounded delicious to me. I have a feeling this month will be a keeper!!

And there's a chocolate amaretto cheesecake that has my name on it http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Hey Mighty,

You know what? When I sat down and really looked at the magazine, I found about a dozen recipes I'd like to try! And oh my, that cheesecake! (It was a reader recipe, for those of you who haven't gotten your issue yet.)

I got mine today in Eugene, OR. Looks fabulous! To add to makedah's preview, the Taste of America section is Tex-Mex salads, a feature on sauces/rubs for grilling (along with great-looking grill recipes, of course), and a feature on "unspeakably delicious desserts."

I think the issue looks great -- there are lots of recipes that I've already marked to try.

And mightyh -- if you're looking for a great chocolate amaretto cheesecake, check out this thread:

The amaretto-amaretti chocolate cheesecake that woodsl posted is TO DIE FOR. It's definitely not light, though.
