Maelynn,

I am still having trouble with the CL "My Cookbook". Here is the link that recently discussed this:
http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/Forum1/HTML/007005.html

I think that thread got buried before you ever saw it! I DID e-mail Personalogic (twice!) and never heard anything back.

Could you please look into this and let us know if anything can (or is) being done to correct this problem?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Lynn

Lynn,

Are you, or anyone that has access to your computer deleting your temporary interent files? I have Microsoft Explorer for a browser so when I go up to Tools, then internet options then I click on Settings and delete files, this deletes all of my cookies. I am almost positive that this would also be deleting your "cook book"

Deleting Cookies isn't necessarily a bad thing, you would be amazed at how many are stored on your computer even after only a day of internet use. It is a pain in the neck though if you have something that is saved only by means of cookies.

I actually delete my cookies and clear my history on my work computer before I leave every day. I rather not have any "traces" of where I have been, stored on my computer. My boss really shouldn't know that I log on to cooking light about a hundred times a day! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

If this is too confusing let me know!

Katy

Katy,
Thank you for the info... I don't know if maybe DH or DD does that??? (He is somewhat cookie-phobic!) http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

BUT, even if that IS the case - there is a serious flaw in that CL My Cookbook program, then! Because losing every recipe every time you try to get rid of the kajillion other cookies you aquire elsewhere is just crazy and IMHO should definitely be CHANGED!!!!

Neither Maelynn OR Personalogic are responding to my queries! I am starting to feel neglected!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Thanks again for the info though.

Lynn-
Sorry. I'm not ignoring you. I have been looking into the problem, and don't have any real answers for you yet.

Katy is right, that your cookies may not be staying put on your hard drive, or your browser might be set up not to accept them at all. The browser may also be configured to "expire" the cookies after a certain, predetermined, period of time - one day, one week, etc.

There are so many variable with each computer system, platform, browser, version, configurations, etc. that it is very hard to diagnose a problem without actually being there at your computer. I'm trying though... I promise!

Thanks...

Maelynn

Maelynn,
SO good to hear from you! Thanks!
I do have my browser set to accept cookies. I don't have an answer to your other questions, though. BUT since so many other people are having the same problem, could you perhaps look into having the program changed? (Like to a log-in, password type of entry) I am just not using the Cookbook -- even though I really want to. That's quite irritating because it has such potential -- but it's just way too frustrating!
Please keep us posted!
And thanks again!
Lynn
