Hi everyone,
I recently purchased Mastercook 9.0 and have to say I don't see too much difference from 8.0
I was hoping that the software would let you permanently organize the recipes by category (my one major complaint about the software), but unfortunately it doesn't. Maybe I am missing all the bells and whistles with this version. Anyone else purchase the upgrade? Any thoughts?

It's taken me so long to become really comfortable with MC7 that I won't upgrade until there are some new features that I can't live without. I have to say that I do enjoy my MC7.

Is there any reason I should upgrade?

The recipe import tool that started in V8 that lets you import a recipe directly from the web was useful enough for me to upgrade!

I went from MC5 to MC8 last year. I really like my MC8, especially the Web Import Tool. I have read on other discussions about MC9 that there are not so many improvements, but that the main difference was that they have added some recycled recipes. Not enough to make me upgrade.

Sherri, I bought this and agree, I see very little difference, if any at all, between 8 and 9. What cookbooks are the new ones? I suppose I could dig out the cd and look for myself but thought I would ask here also.

I purchased MC8 back in July not knowing that version 9 was about to be released. I haven't opened it as yet (I purchased it for my DH to give to me on my b'day because he says he never know what to get me  ) so the store said I could bring it back for instore credit if I wanted version 9 instead. Is it worth going to the trouble of returning it? It doesn't sound like there are very many differences.

Hi Gecko,

As long as you can still exchange it, you might as well do so. MC 9 did also fix a few bugs. Those using MC 7 and below can benefit from MC 9. Those who are already using MC 8 have very little to gain.

I also have version 9 and it seems you CAN organize recipes into books. I guess that would be considered catagories. I like it a lot, seems a lot of the recipes arent really practicle for home use. Overall, its a great program.

I have MC 6. Is it easy to go to a new edition and not lose whats in MC already? Not very good with computer stuff. :o
