Hi guys!

Long time no talk.

I love my job/business but I'm so busy it makes me crazy sometimes. On top of that I've had computer problems.

I need a huge favor! My Dad has been in the hospital for almost 3 weeks. He has had a ton of different problems. The latest is an infectious pneumonia and he is now on a ventilator. To top it off the one of the Dr.s on his case came in last nite and said "he isn't a well man" HELLO he was golfing 3x a week, mowing an acre and taking care of a 2200sq foot home 3 weeks ago. Anyway I ramble....if it isn't to much could you add him to your prayer/good wishes list. I'm braking down as I type...

I can only imagine the stress of having a loved in on dire straights...hang in there.

Anyhow, my inlaws FINALLY return from their extended vacation, which means that this weekend card night is back on. Which will be key, because my football weekend doesn't look too bright.

Oh, and yesterday the boys discovered the joy of taking off their diapers and running around "free".

Joy.

Oh, Esher, that sounds lovely! :D

Peggy, my prayers go out to you and your father.

Well, moving day is finally upon us. And just in the nick of time since my sanity is just about gone! We have a few touchups to do tonight such as hooking up the dryer, a few paint spots and finishing the kitchen cabinets. Tomorrow our friends come and it all gets moved in and I can't wait!

Other than that, GO EAGLES! Thank god it's a 4:00 game!

Peggy, prayers headed your way.

Escher, sounds like the boys are doing well.

I am headed to the mountains for a final weekend of camping for the season tonight. We'll head back late on Saturday though because we don't want to rush down Sunday morning for football Sunday. Hopefully my team can pull out another game like they did Monday night. :D

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Robyn

Editing to add since we were posting at the same time. Good luck moving Linsley!

So, it's Naked Day at the Escher home! Lucky you. ;)

Peggy, I am keeping you and your father in my prayers.

DH and I accomplished the seemingly impossible; we agreed on a paint color for the living room. I'm going to spend some of this weekend painting. As for today, I'm taking hurricane hotline call after hurricane hotline call...

Peggy,
I'm so sorry to hear that your dad isn't doing well. He is most definately in my prayers!! (((Peggy)))

Linsley,
YEAH! Enjoy your first evening in your new home.

Robyn,
Enjoy your camping trip! How is your back doing? Are you done with therapy?

Escher,
LOL! I'm lucky in that my girls didn't take their diapers off, of course we did have our share of running around naked (and still do...) :D

Enjoy your card night.

Well, I'm off to Wal-Mart & BJ's. I have to work tomorrow and Al & Ginger both have ball games tomorrow. It's either go today or go Monday. At least we don't have much planned for Sunday. Although we skipped church & sunday school as weekend, and neither one of us has done our sunday school reading.

Ginger had a great game last night. They had two innings where the other team didn't score any runs, of course the same thing happened to them. Most innings went well, and we even had another double play! Ginger tried to make two plays. For one play the second baseman missed her throw, and for the other play Ginger was covering second and she missed the throw. She rotates between Shortstop and the outfield. She also had some great backups. In the last inning the other team (the bulldogs) ended up ahead by 5 runs. We had been leading the whole game. There is a limit of 6 runs per inning so we had to score those 6 in order to win. Ginger absolutely pounded the ball on her last at bat and allowed the winning run to score!

Good morning guys,

(((Peggy and father))) sending prayers your way. I hope things get turned around soon for him.

Linsley - good luck with moving! I"m sure it's a big relief for you now that it's finally here.

DH took off today since he leaves Monday for his trip to Japan. When Samantha gets up, we're going to run some errands, go out to lunch and just enjoy the day together. He's taking Sara to the PSU game tomorrow. We should have beautiful weather for it.

Escher - Samantha loves to take off her diaper, too. We've been working with her on using the potty so I bought Pullups. Trouble is, she's so petite that even the smallest size Pullup is loose on her. So, it's back to diapers where she can pull the tabs and set herself free. ;)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wow - where to catch up?? :D

Peggy C - great to see you! I'm glad you're doing well. I miss you in the klatch!! Your father will be in my prayers.

Escher - thankfully Erin never did the diaper-free thing. As long as they're still not doing it in college... :D

Linsley - I can't believe you're moving in! Good luck! You have worked so hard! Please post pictures if you get chance.

Robyn - have fun camping! I hope it won't be too cold.

Stefania - DH and I can't agree on toothpaste, never mind paint color! We always joke how we have different toothpaste, different pasta sauces (I have to buy Ragu for him), white bread vs. wheat bread, etc. We made a list once when we were first married! :D

Leigh - Ginger's really turning into quite the jock! :D Your weekend doesn't sound as crazy as usual.

Sue - how cool that DH is going to Japan! I would really love to get there someday.

Today I am off and am making the most of it by doing tons around the house and finally making things out of the apples we got from last weekend when we went to pick them.

I am getting a new-to-me car - another Jeep. It's a 2002 with only 27,000 miles on it and it's a super shiny black. I can't wait until I'm finally driving it - which should be just in time for my birthday next Thursday. I bought it from a private person as I just can't stand haggling with slimy car dealership manager guys.

Go Red Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leigh, I can't believe I didn't mention it but yesterday I was told I don't need to go back to therapy for a month and then just for a re-check! It feels so much better.

Also, I have a great story. My roommate and her boyfriend were cooking sausages the other night and they were smoking a bit (he had the burner on red hot) and they started arguing about it. He pipes up finally and says "Its cooking, its supposed to smoke!" I went upstairs and a few minutes later the smoke alarms started going off......

Robyn,
That's great news on the Therapy!

When I was in college my roomates & I were making homemade french fries. It was a very small kitchen, and I bumped the pan and spilled oil on the stove. YUP, I started a small fire in the kitchen. My response was to calmy move the pan, turn to one of my roomates and say, "John, pour salt on it please!" He was just amazed at how nonchalant I was about the whole deal.

Loren,
Happy Birthday!! When is it? What a cool present.

Sue,
Enjoy the long weekend with DH around.

Stefania,
Don't leave us in suspense....what color did you decide on?

Hi Sneezles & Kathryn!! Long

Ok, now it's off to finish the laundry.

Good morning! I hate the boards today. Half the time I'm getting that database error so I'm not even sure I can post.

Why can't they get it working right!

Okay, rant over :o

Peggy - sorry to hear about your husband. Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery

Escher - you might want to put the diapers on backwards so the tabs are facing the wrong way. Might slow the boys down in the stripping off

Not much planned this weekend. Football game tonight (first league game), dinner group Saturday for the "B" restaurant - Malyasian food, errands, etc the rest of the time.

Wow, that's a fantastic suggestion! I'm pretty sure the diapers aren't "shaped" to prohibit that. I'm going to experiment with that tonight.

The only problem might be is that they may be more absorbent in the front. Its been a long time since my boys were in diapers so I don't know what types of advancements have been made. Another solution would be to put duct tape over the tabs (but it might slow you and your wife down as well) ;)

I'm so sorry to hear about your pop, Peggy. That stuff is so hard. :(

Well, summer arrived this week, right on schedule! Bright blue skies, temps in the 70s, cool breeze off the ocean. It *really* is feeling like autumn these days. DBF is heading up to the north coast for the weekend for a Japanese brush course and I've got a two-day cooking course "Breads and Soups" - whoudda thunk? ;) Of course, it'll probably be at least 80F all weekend, just the time for making bread and soup! Oh well, it'll be fun.

Good luck with the painting, Stephanie! I've yet to paint a room, if you can imagine.

Canice - have they taken the rain out of the forecast for Sunday? It was supposed to cool off and rain in the North Bay. I personally like it warm, but 95 is a bit to warm for me. I feel so bad for Michael when he is practicing in this heat. I least I shouldn't need to wrap myself in a blanket at the game tonight :)

Work here is getting stranger by the moment. The client company originally decided to stop using 3 of our project managers, then it was only 2 and the 3rd one just resigned (I think from both the project and the IT company I work for). Next, they terminated 3 of the programmers (but they are looking to hire more programmers  ). And senior people from the client company are leaving. Doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling at ALL!

Tyra,
That's just down right odd!

Canice,
LOL! The girls have been after me for 2 months to make Rachel Ray's "Spaghetti & Meatball Stoup" Something I refuse to do when it's 90 outside!

(((Peggy))) Sending good thoughts for your father and your family.

Escher, enjoy card night.

Linsley, moving!!! Yay!!!!

Robyn, have fun camping.

Stefania, good luck painting. I keep putting off doing our bathroom.

Leigh, it sounds like Ginger's really enjoying baseball.

Sue, enjoy your day with DH. How long will he be in Japan?

Hi Kathryn and Sneezles!!

Loren, congrats on the new car, and happy birthday early.

Tyra, Go Michael! (Sorry to hear about the job stuff.)

Canice, that sounds like a fun class...mmm, bread. Besides it's always a good time for soup if you work in an office that's kept as cold as mine. :P

Serenity's opening tonight, so I'm going out to dinner with a bunch of fans, and I might see the movie, or I might hold off until next weekend, as I've actually seen it already.

Shawn just asked me to go to a meeting with him on Saturday, but I want to get a haircut before my 20 year high school reunion, which is Saturday night. It turns out that I won't be wearing a cocktail dress, as the dress is casual. I'm still going to buy a wrap for my cocktail dress, though, just in case anyone followed that thread a couple of weeks ago.

Then Sunday we're off to the LA County Fair with my Dad and his wife. I hope the weather stays cooler like it is today. It's always way too hot at the fair.

This is my first time back online since I posted on Fri. Thank you all so much for your well wishes. No real change in his status. But I think he looks worse and has lost some weight.

Thanks again I really appreciate it.

Peggy....I lurk more than post these days (new job in 2003). But I know how much you've been thru and wish you and your dad well. {{{{hugs}}}}}

Is O-man still around? We have a "new" W-man -- Waldo. Eight-year-old Shih-tzu. With issues.

Keep us posted about your dad. Prayers coming your way.

Stefania,
Don't leave us in suspense....what color did you decide on?

Sorry, just saw this! It's Duron Tavern Taupe. We saw it in a friend's house and loved it. I have one wall done and the black furniture looks great against it!
