Hey Canuckleheads-I just heard the Mother corp will be back in business by Saturday. Apparently getting "Hockey Night in Canada" back on is the top priority. That will make all you hockey fans happy eh? ;)

I have really missed The National- my fav news show by far.
DH listens to CBC radio all day as he paints so he is excited too-Shelagh Rogers-yeah!!!!

I for one will be looking forward to my CBC New Brunswick internet news again. CBC is one of the things I miss most about Canada - I know I can get audio streaming on the net, but I can't listen to it in the kitchen, which is where I've always listened to CBC.

I've been listening to Radio 2 in my car lately, and can't WAIT for it to return to regular programming! With all the classical music there is out there, I must have heard Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 a dozen times in 2 weeks.

Oh, and then there is the bonus of hockey. ;)

Two words: Rick Mercer.

Nuff said :D :D

Although, I have to admit that Ben Mulroney made me giggle last night on Corner Gas....

Well, good -- but on the other hand, where was my balanced, objective source of Canadian news last month when I really needed it?

Just a reminder that Rick is moving to Tuesday!

Good! In place of "As it Happens" they'd been running the "Focus" documentaires. Fine programs, but all wrong for the day-part.

Rick Mercer's Tuesday Report, just doesn't have the same palindromic quality...

I can't wait to listen to As It Happens again. We're getting the same BBC broadcast twice.

Apparently I've been living under a rock. :o CBC has been off the air? Just the radio part or the TV part too? What's the scoop?

CBC hasn't been off the air, just on strike. Radio and TV. They've been doing music non stop on the radio, pressing pause and doing the hourly news, and then picking up exactly where they left off after the update

TV's been more fun, because they dusted off the mouldy oldies to fill time. I've been watching Made in Canada every night before dinner. It's been fun. But I miss Peter Mansbridge too Maureen!

I miss the in depth stories they do after the main news on The National.

Funny story- I am well aware that the CBC is left leaning but when I said this to my DH (a CBC fanatic)-he said No way!!! I had to laugh- I said that is why we love it so much. My more conservative friends listen to CBC but say it drives them batty.
Anyway DH's shock cracked me up.

I also miss Air Farce and This Hour has 22 Minutes.
