.... who live near a Stop & Shop supermarket. I did my grocery shopping yesterday, intending to buy the usual cod/scrod or salmon as our fish meal this week. I discovered, to my surprise, that they had Fresh Halibut for $7.99/lb! Maybe I've missed it before, but I don't think I've ever seen fresh halibut at the grocery store - usually have to go to a specialty fish market and pay big $$$$. We grilled it with a light misting of olive oil, dash of salt and pepper, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the table. Served it with the Grilled Potato and Green Bean Salad from the cover of Vegetarian Times magazine this month. YUMMmmm!

Just thought you might like to know if you're looking for fresh fish this week! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Hi. Yesterday we had halibut too! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I think we got it for $8.99 each steak. At the store they told DH they don't bring halibut since its expensive and people don't buy it much(Giant supermarket).I think both steaks came to almost $18.00 but it was very good.
I used a marinade of wine, lemon juice, fresh rosemary, olive oil, salt and pepper.
Since it was pouring rain I grilled them in an electric indoor grill. We had that with rice and salad and an Italian Chardonnay.
Next time I think because the fish is so mild it needs a bit more seasoning.
