Hi All..
I have Mastercook and I primarily use it for recipes I find online, as I love the feel of a "real" cookbook.
I usually copy the recipe I'm interested in by highlighting and right clicking...then in MC I use "import assistant", paste the recipe there and highlight and select the appropriate parts of the recipe to go in appropriate area in the software.
Is this the fastest way to do this or am I missing something?
TIA,
Terri

It's Mastercook 7.
Starting with Mastercook 8 (newest being Version 9) there is a web import tool that makes importing recipes much easier.

I use the auto fill feature. The new import way in Version 8 isn't any faster than the way I do it, I think. I know how to space the recipe in import assist so that I just hightlight all of it and click auto fill and everything goes into it's own place.

I have mastercook 8, and I agree with HealthyinMN that it's much easier. However, I now have AOL and the Web import tool doesn't seem to work in AOL. Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something? (sorry Terri - I don't want to hijack your thread)

mastercook 8 is so easy to use! and the web importer a great tool. I copy lots of recipes from the web.
Julie, the web import tool only works with the Internet Explorer web browser, not the AOL web browser. But you can still use the tool. Sign onto AOL your regular way, then use Start > All Programs to launch Internet Explorer (while still logged onto AOL). That should work fine for you.

I used to use the autofill method and liked it fine, but I later tried the way terri described in her first post and like that way better. it is quicker for me.
I have MC 6.

Thanks Everyone for your input! I might have to treat myself to MC 8 sometime in the future...perhaps a Happy Christmas to myself!!!! I like the idea of a web import feature!!!
Terri, if you do decide to upgrade, I'd suggest you get the latest version, MC 9. You'd have the benefit of more recipes and more fixes to the program.

I like MC8 because you can import pictures. I think you can do it without the web importer, but I don't know how.
