My mother is having emergengy surgery to take out her gall bladder, plus having a severe urinary tract infection...she is one sick lady. I live so far away (TX to IN) so I cant be there, which is very hard for me, so if we are all thinking good thoughts, I would feel better.
Thank you all
Kim

Thanks for all the thoughts everyone. SHe is out of surgery and sounds pretty funny...pretty doped up. This is usually a simple procedure, but she is so sick they are keeping her another night at least...she keeps spiking a fever so they want to IV the antibiotics into her.
Thanks for all the good wishes and thoughts. Part of the reason this is so hard on me is when I was in college in IN my parents moved to NC and I got a call from my mom sayong dad was in the hospital and he died before I got to see him...I know this isnt as serious, but it is just a reminder.
Again, thank you all.

Kim....Thoughts of your Mom are on the way from Massachusetts. I will be praying for her quick recovery. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif She will be just fine...don't worry. I had the lapascopic(sp) surgery and was home the same day. It is good that they are keeping her over night because of her emergency surgery and other complications. Tell her to take it easy for the next two weeks. No climbing stairs or lifting heavy objects. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif This is a good time when you can tell your Mother what to do instead of the opposite! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Kim,
I know how hard it is living so far away from your parents. Mine are 350 miles away from us, and they're both over 70; my in-laws are 1000 miles away, and they're both over 80. It's worrysome for both of us.
My thoughts and prayers are with your mom and your entire family Kim. Please keep us posted.

I'm here in Texas too and understand how the distance can be frustrating. My parents are in VA. My prayers are with you, my husband had a hip replacement on Monday and I know lots of prayers were with him and he is doing great. Here's praying your mom will too. Nancy

Kim,
I hope your Mom is doing well. I know how it is. I have been off of the BB for a few weeks because I traveled to Oklahoma to be with my Mom after she had a bad fall and injured her leg (but no permanent damage). She is doing fine now, but even though it wasn't life threatening, it was difficult at first. However, she was pretty funny on the moraphine (sp?). She is 77 years old and told me at least 10 times how SEXY she thinks Ricky Martin is.
