My sisters surprised me with a cooking class for my up-coming 50th birthday on Saturday night. I white stretch limo (compliments of my husband) pulled up in the drive and inside were my 3 sisters and SIL. They wouldn't tell me where we were going, limo drove around for awhile while we had cocktails. When we reached our destination, two cousins and several friends were awaiting our arrival for a "hands-on" cooking class.

We made whipped feta dip, mushroom empanadas, spiced pork tenderloin salad, chicken athena and pumpkin roll.

One of the gals brought her blow-up male doll (which I gave her for her 40th) and what a night we had! They dressed him in an apron and chef hat (the instructor wants a picture for his website). I never laughed so hard in my life, my jaw muscles were hurting by the end of the class.

I couldn't have asked for a livelier fun group, The very best female people in my world helped me celebrate my birthday! I guess turning half century is only a number as long as you can laugh and enjoy life.

That is such a great/sweet story. Sisters are the best! Happy 50th. You brought in 50 in style.

I want to do this when I turn 50! (with my buddies and sister sans kids!!!!) My friends keep wanting to do getaways with preschoolers- not very enticing. Oh well, I have 9 years to hint around!!
