I know there have been lots of negative reviews on this casserole. But my family loved it! I made some changes based on previous reviews. Here they are:
-used more corn
-used fat free refried beans with jalapenos
-used 3 cans of mild green chiles
-added cornmeal to the flour mixture
-added extra onion and seasoning to ground turkey
-made in 2 8X8 casserole dishes instead of 1 11X7
I didn't think it was bland at all, actually it was pretty spicy!

I have to agree with eks. I've just made this for the third time for my lunches this week (I live alone and these dishes last a long time). I'd have to think it was good to want to eat it every day. I've found that most CL recipes need to have the mounts of spices increased. I use half again as much spice as the recipes call for because I figure that CL is printing recipes for people on all kinds of diets, i.e., low salt.
