Surprised there's no thread on this yet. New York Post (and other outlets) are saying she's 3-months pregnant. This bothers me on so many different levels. I feel bad for Jennifer.

I hadn't heard this yet, but if it's true, I feel bad for Jen too. Her VF interview moved me, and I have a great deal of respect and admiration for her. I'm sure this news must be devastating.

I feel badly for Jennifer Anniston, too - at least on the surface from interviews, etc., she seems like a decent person. It certainly would be hard if your very recently ex-husband so quickly started a new family.

I guess I don't understand the sympathy for Jen. According to all that I've read, Brad Pitt wanted a family and she didn't (at this time or near future). So, they got divorced, he moved on.... If she wanted to keep him, maybe she should have had a baby

Ack!
Never have a baby to "keep" a man....double ACK!
Do we think Brad is the father :D

Tyra - I was under the impression that she disputed that rumor in the VF interview.
I was hoping to see a copy of the article, because I do feel sympathetic to her.

Tyra, she vehemently disputed the "Jen didn't want a family" rumor in her VF interview.
Sorry, Sandy - I read the article on my flight to Belize and then gave it away to the nice woman sitting next to me on the plane. :o

I missed getting that issue too, but did see her recently on Oprah and one other interview where she said emphatically that she absolutely DID want kids, which is why I feel bad for her. A) It would certainly appear that he did cheat on her, B) Assuming she did want kids, this is certainly a stinging slap in the face.

I haven't read the VF article, but I was under the impression that she disputed the family rumor too....and I do feel bad for Jennifer, because it has to be hard to have your ex start a family so soon after the break-up and in such a public way. I also have to admit that I am partly biased because I still can't get past Angelina Jolie when she was married to Billy Bob Thornton and wore a vial of his blood around her neck. ack!

Here's some highlights from Jen's VF interview, including the quote where she denies ever not wanting children:
http://insider.tv.yahoo.com/celeb/insdr20050803t170800002792/
Unfortunately, I don't think the lengthy full-length interview is available anywhere online.

Even if she wanted kids, I don't get the sympathy. My ex told me I was ruining his life by asking for a divorce. that he would never be happy, remarry, etc. The ink wasn't even dry on the papers before he was remarried while I'm still single almost 10 years later.
People get divorced for all sorts of reasons (and infidelty isn't always it). some people don't want to be by themselves so they throw themselves back into relationships.
And, I really don't think you should have a child to save a marriage.

For me, the sympathy is because a) when they first split, it was painted like it was all her fault because she supposedly didn't want kids, b) for him to take up with Angelina so quickly and now be pregnant, it certainly looks like the relationship might have started while he was still with Jennifer, c) to have the news splashed all over the media has got to sting just a little (even if they know they are fodder by the very nature of the choice of their job), and lastly, d) it can't be fun to have him move on so quickly.
From the Oprah interview, she seems like she'll be fine, but that doesn't make it easier. Angelina was quoted as once saying she always falls in love with the actors she makes movies with. Doesn't seem like that was a misquote.

The sympathy, at least from me, comes from the fact that she was truly, madly, deeply in love (and according to her VF interview, still is) with this person that she considers to be her soulmate, who up and left her for another woman and is now starting a new family very much in the public spotlight. So it's not even like she can choose to not know what's going on in his new life - it's all over everywhere. Even if it weren't, though, I would have sympathy for any woman in her shoes.
Noone is saying that you have to be sympathetic. If you're not, that's fine. Who cares? Others are.

I don't get the sympathy thing either....mainly b/c I don't know these people. I mean, in a sense, they're not "real," so I never feel too much for them. It's fun to follow all their comings & goings, though. I love dishing celebrity gossip, but it's all kind of a big PR game. Even though their lives are on display on one level, there's another level we'll never know & shouldn't know. I'm suspicious as to why Jen is out there doing all these interviews talking about whether or not she wants kids, deep personal stuff, etc.
Plus...come on, if you're married to a guy like Brad Pitt, how long do you expect him to remain monogomous??? :-)
Jen is just ready for another upgrade (& I don't think Vince Vaughan is it) Who can we hook her up with?? Clive? Jude? Her hook-up friends at CL are ready to help!

I like Vince Vaughn - he's hysterically funny and attractive (I think at least).
Jude Law? That would be going from the frying pan to the fire, wouldn't it? :)
Clive Owen is super attractive, but I believe he's quite happily married to a woman he's been with for years. So he's out.
I personally love the actor (Josh Duhamel) who stars on the TV show "Las Vegas." He's dating someone (OK, the female lead singer of the "Black Eyed Peas), but he isn't married - he's certainly the same attractiveness level as Jennifer Anniston.

I agree with this...ever see Chicago? :D I believe the song is called "Razzle Dazzle" ...I think all this stuff is just the p.r. machines cranking out spin and while I'm sure she was devastated, the nice sympathy she's generating will help to keep her movie career in full swing. We the public will never know why they got a divorce. I have about as much sympathy for her as I would for any couple going through the same thing that I didn't really know.
I have more sympathy for Katie Holmes

Eeee Gawds! Not to appear old-fashioned, but doesn't ANYONE in Hollywood get married BEFORE they get pregnant????? :(
Personally, I don't follow or care about the lives of celebrities. I just am disgusted by the poor example they set for our children. Can't they at least keep their screwed up lives private or try to be better role models for the impressional youth that look up to them?????

JMHO but I think I feel sympathy for her because he allegedly started his affair with Ms. Jolie whilst he was filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith - he was a married man. Fine if he states that he wanted kids and she didn't, but divorce your wife before you take up with another woman. Guess their marriage might have had a different outcome if Nicole Kidman had played the role ( as she was supposed but her prvious movie ran over schedule) rather than Ms. Jolie.

I do feel badly whenever anyone's relationship ends in divorce. That said, I remember reading an VF article about Jennifer Aniston (when her hair was short) and how she and Brad didn't really believe in that "death until you part" aspect of marriage. I know maybe that changed since then, and it can't be easy to have your marriage end so publicly, but it seems like so many celebs go into marriage with the idea that commitment isn't really required.
Re Angelina Jolie, I never believed for a moment that she was not involved with Brad before his separation. She never seemed like a woman to me who had a lot of class.

I think the person without the class is the MARRIED person that engages in an affair. The other one is just stupid.

Of course I can't believe I even care enough to comment on this--but I don't really "get" Angelina. She seems to be one of those people who changes herself into someone else every five minutes. I'd be surprised if her relationship with Brad lasts longer than the pregnancy. I feel sorry for anyone who has to go through a divorce and I don't feel like I can comment on the why's of it---I haven't seen one Hollywood relationship lately that seems to make any sense whatsoever--but I do like what Jon Stewart (I believe) said about Brad and Jennifer broke up which was something along the lines of: "what hope do the rest of us have if THOSE two get sick of having sex with each other".

Probably just would have delayed the inevitable. If he was up for it it would have happened eventually.

Sadly, yes. And searching the world wide web for a cartoon (or anything funny) about Ancient Rome. It's proving to be a difficult assignment!

Easy. Buy or rent a copy of the musical comedy "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." All ancient Rome, all funny.. It's also in rotation on cable these days, though I'm not sure off the top of my head which premium movie channel is showing it.

I also feel bad for Jennifer. No matter how you slice it if Angelina is having his baby, it's got to hurt.
Though you would think "having kids" would be an issue to talk about BEFORE getting married...

I have been lurking here awhile- such a cool site for the most part.. I want to participate more but find comments like this pretty rude.
The thread name did not say "If you are a Jen sympathizer" post here.
The thread was open to all opinions I would think.
Who cares? is a flippant, rude answer.

I don't believe anything put out by celebrities as it's all carefully managed in order to reflect an image -- especially in the case of Annistan who was widely reported to have gone on the "image" counter-offensive with the Vanity Fair interview -- VF is one of the magazines best known for sucking up to celebrities and allowing them control of content and photographs.
That said, who knows why any relationship goes wrong -- soul mate indeed. :D With very few exceptions most of these people are emotionally narcissistic and dysfunctional and being surrounded by sychopants doesn't help. Does anyone think that it's normal not to talk to one's mother for years -- or to have a mother that would sell your secrets to the press (or whatever irked Anniston) -- either way, it's clearly not a homelife that breeds emotional health and maturity.
That said -- the latest poop. :p
Aniston and Vaughn together in photos
NEW YORK (AP) -- Does Vinnifer have the same ring to it as Brangelina?
Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn were photographed kissing, possibly confirming that their relationship has grown romantic. People magazine published the photos, taken last week in Chicago, in its October 31 issue, on newsstands Friday. (See People magazine story)
Reports have swirled for months that the two actors were an item. Previously, though, it was impossible to separate fiction from reality since they were at work filming "The Break Up." This time, the co-stars were without a film crew while they spent several days together in Chicago.
A call to Aniston's publicist was not immediately returned.
Her divorce from Brad Pitt became final October 2, concluding 4 1/2 years of marriage.
Vaughn co-starred earlier this year with Pitt and Angelina Jolie in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." It was then that reports of a romance between Pitt and Jolie began, which were later corroborated by photographs and public spottings.
In interviews, Aniston, 36, has denied a relationship with Vaughn, 35. In this month's Elle, she said, "He's delicious and funny ... but I don't want to be a rebound girl."
Last month, she said on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that she was ready to date again. In response to Winfrey's query about Vaughn, Aniston responded, "Oh, Oprah!"
Aniston will next star in "Derailed" with Clive Owen, to be released November 11. "The Break Up" is scheduled to hit theaters in February. Vaughn's screen credits include "Swingers" and "Wedding Crashers."
