I am looking for a recipe for Amish Friendship Bread Starter. I did a search and found an old thread about this but only one recipe was posted and that one hadn't been tried. I would like to see one that someone had tried successfully. Also would be interested in any recipes that use the starter.
Thanks in advance for any help!

AMISH CINNAMON BREAD
Make your starter. In a large ziplock bag, combine: 1 cup milk, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar. Smush it thoroughly, until everything is well combined. Leave it sit on your countertop (do NOT refrigerate it). Tomorrow is Day 1.
Day 1-5 Mush the bag well two times during the day
Day 6 Feed the starter. Add to the bag: 1 cup milk, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar. Let out as much air as possible, seal the bag, and smush it thoroughly until everything is well combined
Day 7-9 Release air from the bag and mush the bag well two times during the day (I have refrigerated it at this point for 4-5 days. Let excess air out as needed. Remove from fridge and let sit at room temp overnight before continuing)
Day 10. Squeeze the contents out of the bag into a large bowl.
Add to bowl: 1 cup milk, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar
Stir thoroughly. Measure out four 1 cup starters into ziplock bags. You may pass these on to friends and/or keep one to start the cycle over (tomorrow will be Day One again). Alternately, I have heard you can freeze them at this point for 2-3 months. Thaw overnight at room temperature, and the following day will begin Day One. (I haven’t tried this myself yet)
To the small amount remaining the bowl, add the following and then mix well:
1 cup oil
˝ cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Add in:
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 ˝ tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
˝ tsp salt
˝ tsp baking soda
1 large box vanilla instant pudding (the 6 serving size—can also use butterscotch or chocolate)
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, almonds) or raisins, or a combination of the two
Mix well, until all the dry ingredients are incorporated. Spray two loaf pans with Pam and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar. Pour batter into pans and sprinkle the top with more cinnamon sugar. Bake at 325° for one-1 ˝ hour, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. (you may also bake in muffin tins or a bundt pan, adjusting the baking time accordingly)
Peggy, I think I found the thread you mentioned, but also a few others. Look here (http://community.cookinglight.com/search.php?searchid=93297). Sounds like there are some T&T recipes. I've never done the Amish one since I have a regular sourdough starter.
