Please help! My husband and I had this wonderful wasabi salad dressing from a Japanese resturant. Would anyone have a recipe?

Here's one recipe -- a tangy little vinaigrette that's pretty good on just about everything!

Wasabi Dressing

2 teaspoons Wasabi paste
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sugar
1-teaspoon ground white pepper
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest

Combine ingredients and mix well. Serve with salad greens.

This dressing is perfect on cucumbers!

I ran across another wasabi dressing (from a Japanese friend of mine) -- this one is creamy. Do you recall what the dressing your husband had was like?

2 T Mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon wasabi
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

Makes one serving.

Hi Lorilei - do you have any idea what the conversion from wasabi powder to paste is? I suspect its more than just adding water but am pretty clueless. The powder we have is quite hot and it seems that 2 teaspoons would set off a powder keg.

If you like wasabi, have you all tried the wasabi mashed potatoes from a recent issue of CL? They were soooo good and a very lovely shade of green!
