Supper Club in Chicago - Wrigleyville

Hey guys! I'd love to start a cooking club on the north side. I just moved to Chicago from Boston, where I was in a really great CL supper club. II really miss it and I want to start its equivalent here in Chi-town! How we started in Boston was, someone posted a message to the bulletin boards asking everyone interested to meet up at a restaurant. So many people showed up (around 30) that we subdivided into groups based on neighborhood! If you want, I'll post a message like that to the Chicago boards, and we can all meet up and talk about what we want to do with the club. What do you think?

I saw you were in Chicago. My sister lives close to you...don't think she'd be in for the club though. Great area. We were discussing where my daughter would be able to afford to live when she moves there and Wrigleyvill and Buck town were the 2 top picks. Next time I'm in Chicago I'll see if you guys are having a meeting and I would love to "pop" in. I was just there a month ago walking around the neighborhoods. Hope all goes wll with your club. I'm trying to get one started here in Michigan.

OK, w/ so many interested let's set a date. I know the holidays are right around the corner and everyone's schedule is about to get crazy. How does the first weekend of December look to everyone? I say we get brunch somewhere on Sunday (12/4) to meet everyone and plan a few things. There are several places in our area that offer brunch and I've been dying to try one of them. Thoughts?

Hello fabulous future chefs! Here is the plan... We will be meeting Sunday, December 4th at O'Donovan's Restaurant (2100 W. Irving Pk. Rd.) at 11:00. If you are available, I ask that you shoot me an email to confirm by the Wednesday prior so I can make reservations. I will list the reservations under "Dawn" so that everyone will be able to find us once they arrive. If you would, please bring the following:
Your day planner - this was we can organize everyone's schedule for our first "cook night"
Your ideas - For example, How do you envision this club (goals, etc)? How do you want to prepare menus? etc.
Any articles or magazines that might help us get started.
We have much to discuss and tons of fun to plan. I hope to see you all there!

I'm no authority, but I'd say there's room for one more. We're only at 7 or so right now. Once we meet we'll be able to decide how many people should be in a group and if we should divide up. My place isn't big enough for a dinner for 12, but I could definitely squeeze in 8.

I was actually part of the Boston Supper Club that Jen was talking about ( I was in charge of the Brookline/Newton Club!) and would love to be part of a supper club here in Chicago.
