Anyone have any suggestions?? I've never been to Indianapolis before, and I'm heading out there soon with four 11 year olds, so I don't need any fine dining suggestions. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif We'll be pretty busy most of the time, but I'm just curious if there are any good sights to see or good shopping recommendations. Thanks in advance.

I recommend the Childrens Museum (if you are going downtown). It is one of the best Ive been to! The zoo is also nice (they have a dolphin show), but the zoo is expensive! There is also a great mall downtown....they took several old warehouses and connected them and made a HUGE mall! If they are girls, they would enjoy that! Altho we are there several times a year to visit our families, I havent lived there for 4 years, so Im sure there are even more things as the city has built up quite a bit.

May I ask, why Indy? It isnt usually a tourist mecca! Also, where are you staying? Will you have access to a car? That will have something to do with what you can do.

Also, I know people on the board will shoot me, but the TGI Fridays at Keystone at the Crossing is the coolest one in the country! I think 11 years olds would have a blast there! Dont go to the one downtown, though. Also, there was a Planet Hollywood there and if its still open, the kids would enjoy that if they havent been to one!

email me if you have any more questions....I can email my teen-age SIL and ask for help.

Kim

No Planet Hollywood in town any more--but we do have a Hard Rock Cafe that kids might like.

Let us know where you'll be staying and I'll write about more location-specific spots.

But--definitely the Children's Museum and do see one of the Cinedome shows while you are there--they are excellent (IMHO). Walks on the Canal downtown are nice too.

There is a competition in Indianapolis that the girls are in. We are staying at the Marten House Hotel--the host hotel--I'm not sure where that is in relation to downtown of anything else. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif And yes, we will have access to a car.

Thanks for the advice. Let me know if you think of anything else.

The Cinadome at the Children's Museum will be showing a N'Sync mini-concert thing. (I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it sounded like something 11 year old girls would be interested in.)
