Today is my "Friday", BF and I are leaving tomorrow for the Verde Valley in AZ. His mother and brother live there. It will be our belated Mother's day with his mom, his brother's birthday, and our 2 year anniversary.
I also have not seen his brother in over 20 years. BF hasn't seen him in about 3. I met BF's mother and brother before I met him. Years later, BF and I got together.
This will be my first trip there as I hear that it is really beautiful country. We will also be doing a day trip to Sedona. I am looking forward to warm weather as we have been having what is known as "June gloom" weatherwise. IF we get sun, it isn't until the afternoon. Have a safe and relaxing weekend everyone!

My best friend from grade school is getting married in my hometown, so I'm going home on Saturday to visit my family and attend the wedding/reception -- and BF is coming along to meet my parents, two sisters, brother and old friends. I know he's looking forward to a relaxing weekend http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

This weekend is our town's city-wide garage sale. Doesn't sound like much fun, but it is nice to clean out the junk and make a little money. Other than that...nothing is planned. Maybe we'll take the kids to see Shrek - it's supposed to rain. I think we've had rain just about every Memorial Day for a while now!

Rain here too. May try to grill out and try the Garlicky Roasted-Potato Salad recipe but other than that I bet we start some project around the house!
Everyone have a great long week-end!

Daner94, you can have picnics/fires on the beaches at Seabrook, but I think you have to get permission from someone. Might not hurt to call the island and find out what the protocol is. Looks like SC weather is supposed to be pretty nice this weekend -- highs in the low 80s, and not too humid. Seabrook is great if you haven't been there before. It's fun to rent bikes and ride all around the island.

We are going to a college graduation, then hopefully we can work on our garden and if not raining retouch the deck if raining then just put the deck furniture out and postpone the touch up. The next day we have a grad party to go too then probably relax, bbq a bit. Hope I get the JUne CL and try some recipes http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Hiking Saturday, then to a rustic cabin in the Gorge overnight. Catching up on yardwork/housework on Sunday & Monday, with a possible barbeque on Monday evening. Very relaxing, which is totally what we need after a series of fun, but very hectic, weekends. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

My SO is graduating from grad school this weekend. His parents are coming; they are divorced and both have remarried. I have met them all but the new spouses haven't ever met each other. Should be interesting!
We already had some tension over planning/decision-making and who was "in charge" of the weekend, mom or dad. So in the end we decided that I was the hostess and I would come up with the plan! This is helping everyone feel good about the weekend, but it has also led to me doing an awful lot of cooking/entertaining! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

It's supposed to rain here, so we really didn't make any plans except stay at home, fire up the grill and drink wine!!!!

I've been cleaning to get ready for MDW... no specific plans, but friends of ours are moving to Belgium next week so this will be the last time we see them for a while. We'll give them a few months to settle in and then head across the pond for a visit- perhaps Christams in Belgium.
Saturday is softball games for the kids followed by our friends wedding. Sunday and Monday will be gardening, salmon fishing, and camping if the weather is nice. If the weather isn't nice Sunday and Monday will be gardening in hip boots and drying out the kids.

It's our first anniversary on Monday, so we're going away for the weekend to celebrate. We're going to the Mississippi River between Minnesota and Wisconsin to a place called Lake Pepin (not really a lake, just a wide part of the River). I can't wait! We're staying at a B&B and plan to rent bikes and go hiking, etc. 'Course it's supposed to rain all weekend so I don't know how much biking we'll do.

Wow!! You all have much better plans than I do. My DH and I will be preparing to install hardwood floors. We bought a fixer-upper house and moved in around the holidays. Since then all we do is work on the house.
Our hardwood plank were delivered Tuesday, but they need to sit for 2 weeks to climatize. In the meantime, I'm going to paint the master bedroom and hallway. DH will be installing new subfloor.
Aggie94 I really feel sorry for you. I hate moving. Good Luck!

I'm singing at a wedding on Saturday morning, then my DH and I are going out to dinner without the kids. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif Sunday we're going to a friend's for dinner (I'm bringing a white Merlot; just tried it and it's awesome!) There's also a Greek festival going on nearby, so we may do that tomorrow or Monday. Have fun, all!

I have to say, I would rather be doing ANYTHING (including working!) than moving this weekend. It won't be all bad, though. DH & I will take a break Sunday evening to go to a salmon BBQ that a colleague of mine is having. Now, if only I can unpack my kitchen in time, so that I can bring a respectable side dish...

Delicious Orchards, here I come! I will be going to my my BF's family's house in Red Bank, NJ. They have a pool, but I think it is going to rain all weekend. Either way, I plan on catching up on some reading and visiting my favorite place in central Jersey - Delicious OrchardS!
I will be cleaning up from my kitchen water disaster. I will have help with moving larger items into the basement rooms that were also destroyed. Everything is supposed to be working now (I have been promised no more leaks); the new flooring is down in the kitchen and the basement so I will be trying to return my home to its normal state. Can't wait to get everything back the way it was. It will be three weeks this Sunday since everything was water soaked by my new refrigerator's water valve leak.
Saturday we have to take time out to attend a wedding. My husband is a judge and is performing the ceremony. It is to be an outdoor wedding and the forecast is for rain. I asked what the arrangements were in case of rain and he said he did not know so this will be interesting.

Cleaning house on Saturday http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif, going to a friend's house for a BBQ on Sunday, then Monday my brother and his GF are coming into town for a few days. I haven't seen my brother in a while, and I took Tuesday off to hang out with them. I'm looking forward to a nice long weekend. The weather has been really hot lately, but the forecast is for mild temperatures. Yay!

DH and I are camping, taking dog along.
Lot's of great camp food(smores, chili dogs, etc). BIL & SIL will be meeting us up there and we plan on hiking a few trails. Always fun but unfortunately the blueberries won't be in season yet. That will have to wait until August.

Yardwork, but the fun kind...more planting of herbs, flowers, etc..
Then horseback riding, intertwined in there each day...
Maybe a barbeque here or there. We're being home-bodies this weekend!

It's catch up time with the kids and a few friends, as well as the Folk Life Festival in Seattle. We enjoy hanging around at the festival. It's pretty big with activities and music Friday thru Monday.

This is the first year we've tried this & DH doesn't normally cook--he's getting better, but less $$ spent of gifts and more time w/each other is the best present of all. Monday watch my lil sis march in the parade-if its not pouring out http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

My best friend from junior high school will be visiting from Austin this weekend. He and I never run out of things to do. He'll also be riding around with me to look at various pieces of real estate. I'm looking for a house with barn and he's also looking because he's considering moving back here. I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend.

I am babysitting my godson and his brother and taking them to an NSync concert Monday night. Am I a good aunt or what?? I'm hoping for not-too-terrible weather the rest of the weekend so we can cook out.

Rain is predicted here this weekend so we'll see but Jazz is the word here in St. Louis this weekend. Tonight cajun food with while listening to a Jazz trio. Tomorrow there are two different jazz festivals and a concert at a local venue, celebrating the 75th anniversary of Miles Davis birthday. Also a Greek festival. Mmmmm, just thinking of all that food is making me hungry (and gain weight because there's no low-fat going on there!!!). On Sunday, graduation party for the daughter of a friend, and Monday a barbeque. About all those projects around the house . . . perhaps it needs to rain all weekend so I'll actually do something productive and not just play.
Hope all of you have a great one!

We'll be house hunting all weekend. We are relocating from Grand Rapids, MI to somewhere in the "Detroit" area. My husband has been working down there since September and only home every other weekend, so I'm excited. However, the pressure is on. We listed on house last week and sold it in THREE DAY! I cannot believe it sold so quickly. We have until July 10th to close on it, so we have some time, but not much. Anyways it won't be much of a holiday weekend for me - our real estate agent has about 12 -15 houses lined up for us to look at and I can only hope that one of them is "the one". I'm leaving work in about 1/2 an hour to head over there. I hope that everyone else has a wonderful weekend!!
Cheryl
Jodi, you are way cool, how very kind of you to be so good to your nephews! I'm sure they will remember this outing for many years. Our plans include whatever yardwork can be done between rain showers, a neighborhood bbq (they're new neighbors, but kindly invited us) and on Monday we're off to Fairhill Races to tailgate and watch some local horse races. sally

We have two bbqs to attend, we are planning a romantic picnic one day down at the place we were married, and down to San Diego one day to go through Balboa Park.
We were able to take today off in addition to Monday so it will be a nice long weekend for us!

We haven't seen my best friend and my GodDaughter (age 3) in a few weeks, so we're heading up there on Saturday morning so DH can help them put up a play area for my GodDaugter! They bought one of those kits that you put together, complete with a built in treehouse looking thing, slide, swings, the whole shebang. Jeez, I remember having your basic tubular steel swingset, but this thing is a Kiddie Condominium!! I'm waiting for them to install a bathroom in the darn thing for her! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif
Since I'm 'recuperating' I get out of all the hard work http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif I'll just be helping my buddy in the kitchen making food for all the men they've sweet-talked into helping put this $3000 monster together! DH works Sunday and Monday, so I'll spend those days sitting on my tail watching DVD's and getting ready to go back to work on Tuesday. Have fun everyone! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I just came back from two amazing days on the Olympic Peninsula (the region west of Seattle) with my best friend from college. I hadn't seen her in five years, so my throat is nearly hoarse from talking talking talking. The weather was outstanding, the scenery was breathtaking, the company delightful. I visited my childhood home near Port Angeles and I am wafting about in nostalgia.
Tomorrow it's up bright and early to drive BACK to Seattle to catch a flight to Philadelphia. I'll be there all next week for a conference. This annual conference is an absolute blast- a professional perk- so I will have a great time seeing old friends and colleagues.
I'll miss DH though- I always do http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
