Help if anyone can....My old neighbor gave me a recipe for Oatmeal Nut Bread. This is by no means a light recipe. She left out the amount of margarine I need. Can any of you give me a ball park amount?

3 c boiling water
2 cups quick cook oats
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
? margarine
4 eggs
3 cups flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp soda
2 tsp salt
My daughter loved this recipe and I would love to make it again. I have lost contact with this woman unfortunately or I would ask her. Thanks to any help you all can give me!

Beth Hensperger's recipe for Winter Oatmeal Bread has the same amount of oatmeal and a couple cups more of flour, but this recipe calls for 4 tablespoons of butter. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion, but I think that should be about right.

If this is a quick bread I think more along the lines of a whole stick of butter would be accurate.

Thanks Laurachoc and Mrswaz! I went with 1 stick of butter and the bread is super moist.(although I would hate to have the nutritional numbers on this one) I appreciate your quick responses!
