Did anyone else here send in the plug off their crockpot for the rival recall? I did as it stated on the site I registered it on that it would only take 2-3 weeks to get the new one. That was the beginning of August. After a month I emailed the company and they never responded. Tried again a couple of weeks later. This week I called the company and was told it would be at least 6 months before I get my replacement  :(

I'm so upset. I use my crockpot at least twice a week this time of year. I'm going through severe slow cooker withdrawal. I guess I'll go out and get another since it will probably be spring before I get the replacement.

I sent mine in shortly after someone posted a note about the recall here. I received my new outer unit at least a month ago. Sorry I'm so sketchy about exact dates, but I know for sure it wasn't six months. Maybe they're having trouble keeping up with the demand.

I haven't heard of a recall - any info which models? Thanks.

Edited - I found the models and the one I have is not included. Here is the link I found:

I posted the recall notice back in August and sent my cord in then. The original notice said 2-3 weeks. Well, about 2 months went by and I finally called Rival to find out where my new base was. They told me they had some problem with "my info" and now that I was calling, could update my stuff and send out a new base. I got it within a week.

Maybe if you called again and were pretty clear that 6 months is NOT acceptable perhaps they could send yours out ASAP.

I am so sorry about the delay...I know what it feels like!!

Believe me, they know 6 months is not acceptable. After I called and got nowhere, my husband called and got the same response. He asked to speak to a manager and they told him the same thing. He asked to talk to someone higher up and someone called us back later and told us the exact same thing as the other two. They just kept telling us it's a nationwide recall and we need to be patient and there was nothing they could do to speed things up. I'm not real thrilled with their customer service right now.

That is a huge bummer....as if they didn't realize people probably don't need their crockpots too much in the late spring & summer!!

Not that I would suggest you do this but it makes me think that you should go out and buy another Rival crockpot, making sure to keep the reciept. Use it until your new base arrives and then return the "new" one that you bought to the store saying it stopped working or something, :( :(

P.S. They should REALLY update their website so people have accurate information before sending in the stuff!!
