This is not a food question, but I hope someone can help. I'm looking for a plate that says something like "this is not a plate to keep - please refill it and pass it along." I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks

Here is a Santa pass it along plate (http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcweb/application?namespace=browse&mode=Browsing&origin=/products/95_3350.jsp&event=link.externalProductDetails&sku=95/3350&topLevelCategoryId=342675&parentCategoryId=342680&categoryId=342719&tabId=Holidays&cm_mmc=srchdex-_-SANTA+PASS+IT+ALONG+PLATE-_-srchdex-_-srchdex&CM_REF=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsearch%3Fhl%3 Den%26q%3Dpass%2Bit%2Balong%2Bplate)

Here is another (http://deseretbook.com/store/product?sku=4921468) that isn't holiday oriented

And one more plate (http://www.etsy.com/view_item.php?listing_id=11343)

What a cool idea. I've never seen one before, but really want to start doing this! Thanks for the eye-opener!!

I'm 99% sure I saw that type of plate on the Lillian Vernon catalog website.

If you have one of those decorate-ceramics places in your area, I bet they would have one you could paint yourself.

Never heard of this. I think it's a great idea. I wish I could see a large anough photo of that second one to tell what it says. Can anyone else read it?

This plate shall have no owner
For its journey never ends.
It travels in the circle
of our family and friends.
It carries love from home to home
For everyone to share.
The food that's placed upon it
Is filled with love and care.
So please enjoy what's on this plate,
Then fill it up again,
And pass along the love it holds,
To family and your friends

I found another beautiful one at Lenox:

Hope this helps! ~ V. C.

Do you think you would ever get it back :D I wonder if you could somehow track where it traveled!

The last link I posted had a marker to write your name on the back when you received the plate. I guess you could ask people to send you a list of where its been sent to so you could compile your own list.

And depending on your circle of friends...you might never see it again, or it could come back frequently :D

I did a "you are special today" plate at a paint your own ceramics place. It's a family tradition. I like your idea, though! I might have to make a return trip to the ceramics shop.

I'm just curious ... would you really spend $30 - $40 for a plate intended to be passed along?

I wouldn't...but two out of three I posted are under $10. That I would pay

Sure, I'd pay that much. But I was suprised that three of the alternatives in the $30-$40 price range.

Thanks GIngerPow. I don't think I'd spend $30-40 on a plate to pass around unless it was to be passed among a defined group or something. I think our ceramics place had some plates that you might be able to do in the $10-15 range. I think they may have had a medium size one for $8. I like the idea of doing that.
