Hey, I have just put this all together in the crock pot and am worried that the recipe called for 3 lbs. and I've got 5 stuffed in there. I am cooking it on high for longer than suggested and I wonder if I ought to shift it around a bit mid way through cooking. Also, this recipe calls for a wire rack to be placed in the bottom and my cooker did not come with one. I have been using a collapsible veggie steamer and it's ok but kind of looking worse for the wear. Any one know where I might buy such a rack?

I don't think you'll have a problem with the meat being too big, because beef shrinks as it cooks. You may have to remove some of the liquid, however, as the meat makes its own juice and adds to the liquid you already have in there! Are you sure you want to cook it on 'high'? Maybe your slowcooker is different than mine, but if I cook on 'high' it starts boiling like it was done on top of my stove on medium-high!
Because you don't have a rack I would suggest turning the brisket every few hours, just to assure even cooking. I have never had a rack either, and I've always just turned the things! Good luck! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
