I want a new piece of Le Creuset for Christmas. I can't decide on which one.

I have two pieces now--a small, tomato shaped dutch oven (2 1/4 quarts)
and a large bouillabaisse pot (7 1/4 quarts). I use them both ALL of the time. They are truly very versatile and my favorite cookware.

The other pieces I use a lot are a small nonstick skillet just for eggs, a large nonstick skillet, a 10 inch stainless steel skillet, and my trusty cast iron skillet (I have this in the small 6 inch and the larger 9.5 inch).

I have a nonstick dutch oven that I don't use very often, as well as a few stockpots and a pot with the pasta insert.

I cook every night, but usually just normal, everyday foods, like you find in Cooking Light. I might try something more Gourmet/Bon Appetit-ish once or twice a month.

What pieces of Le Creuset do you have and love?

Betty,
I have the 7 1/2 qt pot ( I will call it a dutch oven). I use it when I make soups. However, now that it is just my DH & myself, I am considering a smaller version.

What do you use your tomato shaped dutch oven for? I am looking for something to cook small pot roasts, etc in the oven.

Looking forward to see what responses you get to this thread. :)

I think the tomato would be too small for a roast (I have the green pepper which is about the same size). I think the 4 1/2 quart French Oven would be better for a small roast.

I have a round and an oval french oven, I believe the round is the 7qt size, and the oval the 9 qt size. I use mine for things like beef stew, corned beef briskets, soups, and other large cuts of meat. I love them! I was just at Williams Sonoma yesterday, looking at the bouillabaise pot. I think that's the one that Giada uses on her show a lot, isn't it? That may be my next acquisition. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you get, but personally I think the larger sizes are more useful. Although those little vegetable dishes are really cute!

I hear you....I got my one and only 7.5 qt round at a blow out on Amazon one day.

That 5'er almost leaped into my basket at Tuesday Morning though.
