Pampered Chef knives are wonderful. We sell a 3" Paring Knife, 5" Utility Knife and 8" Chef's Knife. They are not outrageously priced and have a lifetime guarantee. If you don't have a rep, please contact me privately.

I have quite a collection of Chicago Cutlery wood handled knives. I am satisfied with them. If at the time I bought them I had more money, I would have bought Henkel or similar. Maybe when I go back to work!

thanks for the info. my current knives are black-handled Chicago Cutlery, and I am trying to decide if I should replace w/ the same or just go for better stuff.

I just got a small set of Cutco knives and LOVE them. They definately wern't cheap, but they also wern't outrageously expensive either. They carry a lifetime guarantee. If you ever do anything to it, they will replace it no questions asked. They have a wonderful weight and feel in your hand. The warrenty is even transferable to the new owner and, as a result, the rep said she has heard of people itemizing them in wills.

Cooks Illustrated did a testing of paring knives. Forschner was the second to the top-rated one, and it only costs about $5. They didn't like the Oxo paring knife.
