I thought this recipe sounded so strange. Can't wait to get some reviews!

I have not yet received the June issue, but this recipe sounds peculiar.

I too was wondering if anyone is brave enough to make it. Other than your own garden, where do you get green tomatoes? I haven't seen them in the markets in California.

This sounds absolutely too yucky.
Now watch someone will make it and say it's good.

I also thought yuk when I first saw this recipe title, but you tend to think tomato rather than green. It might be interesting, and I would try it if someone else made it. I'd have a hard time making it myself since I would not want to sacrifice any tomato that wasn't ripe unless there was a threat of frost-- long after raspberries have come and gone.

If I can find green tomatoes I plan to try it. I'm thinking that the green tomatoes in this will be like having rhubarb or watermelon preserves - sweet with a little bit of tangy.

HA! Maybe if nobody else gets around to it! I figured somebody would be curious enough to have tried it already.

This recipe fits up there with those cactus recipes a couple of months back. Did ANYBODY make any of those???

I echo hlao23, if I can find green tomatoes I wouldn't mind trying it. Of course, you all know that the tomato is a fruit and even though they are green, they are not sour but tasty. Green tomatoes here in the east will not be available till late August.

Just wanted everyone to know - it's in the oven right now. I will report back in a little while, when it has cooled off enough to taste...say in about an hour or so.

*slapping a high five* to Terry! You must have green tomatoes in your area. Can't wait to hear. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

<drum roll> I pronouce this very edible!! No kidding this surprised me. I made a half a recipe because I excepted to end up trashing it. Yes, I have a slew of green tomatoes in the garden, so the expense was not much.

I hope others of you try it. I is good and a conversation piece...who would have thought it...green tomatoes in a cobbler.

Terry -- you've got to give us more descriptors than that! "edible" isn't enough. Tell us more!

Is it YUM-YUM or just yum-yum? Thanks Terry for giving this one a shot and coming back with a review! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

FYI Atlanta bbers-Our beloved Harry's has some nice looking green tomatoes. I got a few to make some of the June recipes (do not know if I am brave enough to try the cobbler, though!)

I would say it is just yum-yum, not yum-yum. It's hard to explain the taste, predominate is the raspberry and crust, with a hint of "green taste". It is tart and sweet. I wish I could be more specific, but the words just wont come. I will say this though, after thinking about it, I probably wouldn't make it again...why waste perfectly good green tomatoes (that will be rosy red gems soon) when you could have a plain raspberry cobbler, and enjoy it as much or more.

Yeah! A review! I am back at work today catching up on all the weekend posts. Sounds like this one is okay, but not memorable. Thanks Terrytx for sacrificing your tomatoes for the cause of BB curiosity.

Hope you all had a great long weekend!
