Ok...my daughter (and I ;) ) would love an electronic labelmaker for Christmas. I have looked at Dymo and Brother...the ones around 30 bucks (or less!).

She is a scrapbooker so I like all the tapes they have not but when you get out of the M series of Brother tapes and into the TZ series it seems REALLY expensive!!! Dymo has a lot of colors and they are cheaper but they are not as long as the brother tapes. But my 8 year old daughter would pay 5 or 6 dollars for a tape... I can't see her forking over 20 bucks for a roll of tape no matter how long it is!

I need to know if any of you have a labeler and what you like/dislike about it and is it easy to find fun tapes?

ANY IDEAS? I AM GOING BANANAS!! (I have been on Amazon, Google, all office stores, the Dymo and Brother websites and I am all confused now comparing them.... I need to hear from people who have used them )

BUMPing up for you.

I have a cheapie handheld Dymo that I use for file folders and little jobs, but wouldn't think of using it for scrapbooking. I guess there are sophisticated ones out there, but the one I got in Target, in the school supply section sure is not. Hope someone else can help you.

Oooh, my OCD side wants one of these, but I wouldn't pay much for one.

For your daughter's scrapbooking labels, I think even an expensive labelmaker would be limiting at some point. $20 for a roll of tape??? That is insane. I'm sure you know there is some sort of gadget that makes any paper into a sticker. I've made labels on my computer and Word or Avery label maker software. That way you can use whatever fonts you have loaded and whatever paper can fit into your printer. My MIL got me a really decent paper cutter--the kind with the swing arm. (now that might be a parental assistance device right now--but I think maybe that might give more options than a $100 label maker since the tapes are so expensive! ) The swing arm cutter also will lock shut...just so you know. They do remind me of a guillotine.
