Rev. Chewy Chocolate Cherry Cookies Dec CL

As soon as I saw the name of these they appealed to me! Thought they were very good! I doubled the recipe - as written it makes 30. I got 64 cookies out of the doubled recipe. I used more chocolate chips than it called for - calls for 3 T. in the single recipe - I used the rest of a bag I had - a scant cup. I didn't bake them quite as long as it said, and may decrease the baking time a bit more next time for increased chewiness. I took them into work and they were a bit hit. The dried cherries (Thank goodness for TJ's!) were really good in them.

Just FYI, all the December issue recipes are already up on the CL website. Go up to the big Search box at the top of the screen and type in December 2005 and all 106 recipes should come up!

I also made these cookies this weekend and they turned out great! I didn't have enough dried cherries, so I subbed dried cranberries. They still tasted good with the sub. I baked some on my stoneware and another batch on a regular cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. The one's on the cookie sheet came out much better - the stoneware one's seemed to flatten out too much! I was bummed!
