Hi Everyone,
Last nite my DH and I ate Digiorno's (sp?) frozen pizza and I fell in love with the crust. When we usually make piza at home, we make it thin and crispy. But for a change how do you make a thick and chewy pizza crust?
Thanks!

I make a pizza dough in my breadmaker that calls for enough dough for 2 pizzas. I make 2 smaller thick crust ones out of it, or one very larger one - thick crust. To ensure that the crust is not burnt before done, I precook it for about 5 minutes. The toppings don't take long themselves.

I use the CL recipe for Basic Pizza Crust, double it and then freeze two of the crusts. I make it in the bread machine and then divide it into 4 servings, making two at once since there are 5 of us. Last night I used garlic oil in place of the olive oil and it was great! Next I will probably work in some parmesean cheese.

I finally had success with my crust, accidentally. I like a chewier crust. (like hand tossed) Tonight, I made the CL All Purpose Pizza Dough recipe. But, what I thought was my 1 cup measuring cup was actually 2/3 cup. So, I didn't use nearly as much flour. I didn't even realize until the dough was ready to put in the oven. But as luck has it, it was the best I have ever made.
