Keeping olives

Does anyone know how long you can keep black olives in the refrigerator after you have opened the can?? They would be stored in a plastic container. Thanks

My rule of thumb for things I don't have a date on is "until they don't smell like they're suppose to!" I know the brine helps with the shelf life but don't have a definitive answer for you.

I always put them in a jar to store instead of plastic. Doesn't plastic absorb odors and other things too gross to mention? I guess it was my mom's thing that I continue to do. I can tell they are past their prime when they become soft.
