OT- Calling all teachers

Susann had a great question on the Canadian thread- how many more days left for you? I have 2 in-services and 5 1/2 days with the kids! Somehow not enough time to do everything I need to do, doesn't that always happen at the end??

My last day of school in Vermont is June 19th. We have to make up 7 snow days this year. DH, also a teacher last day is June 22. He has to make up 9 snow days. Seems like summer is getting shorter and shorter!

My last day is June 8th!!!!!!! (if that is a Friday).. No snow days to make up but I was doing my snow dance all winter! No luck this year.

My last "teaching" day in NH is June 11th... I teach 4 sections of seniors and 1 section pf freshmen, and the seniors were done May 18th. So I have only 1 exam left to give, and it's June 15th.

We had about 4 snow days this year, but because we're a private school we didn't have to make any of them up. Yippee!

Well, the students last day is June 20th and we have one more day after that (which may actually be a half day -- but I never seem to get out at 11 on those half days -- too much to do. No snow days -- which is nice since last year they made us work Memorial Day as a snow make up. I doubt they'll ever so that again.

Kalna -- where do you teach in Vermont? I lived in Burlington for 7 years -- worked for the phone co. there and ended up with a Masters in ESL -- before Vermont accepted the endorsement

My last day with the kids is Thursday, workday Fri, Mon and TUes, then summer school starts Wed.

24 teaching days...not that I'm counting. We have the afternoon of the 29th of June off...I've already booked my massage http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif Then my course (blind specialist) starts July 3rd for a month. I'm looking forward to August...

Sarah, I thought I'd be the last one standing, but you've got me beat by a week. We have 17 full days and 2 half days left here in NY. Our last day is Friday the 22nd. (Not soon enough!!)

I am a substitute teacher here in Victoria B.C. and schools here don't get out until the very end of June. Do you all start in August!! Our first day is Sept. 7th or so!!

KIm, I passed a Houston school today and thought it looked like enought cars there to be a teachers' work day. Hard to believe. At least it was a quiet day. Hope you had a good one.

My boys are our (one on the 18th and one on the 24th), but the teachers had the 25th and tomorrow, the 29th. We start back Aug 16th, and that was after the school district moved it back a week!

Our last day here in the poconos is June 15th!! We had snow days this year. We start back on Aug. 30 with teacher inservice.

Usually we finish up at the end of June and don't start back until after Labour Day. I'm looking forward to the early finish in June, I'm not sure I'll be thrilled to go back in August. LOL!

13 more days and a Rain Forest play to go(but WHO'S COUNTING??) here in San Diego!! Kids are through June 14th and we have teacher check-out June 15th. No snow days to make up for us, although my girlfriend's hubby is the Superintendent in Julian (mountain area) they have 4 snow days to make up this year. Nearing the end of school, I'm thankful for NO SNOW! The kids are ready to be done, and so am I. Of course, I'll see them all in August when I take them from 1st to 2nd grade! ACK!

Don't get angry! My last day of teaching was Friday. We have an in-service day on Tuesday and then we are done! But summer goes so fast, I am taking two classes and have to attend a couple of workshops.

Well, yes, we do go late. But we don't start again until the Tuesday after Labour Day. We have no real in service days here now, but 2 months is 2 months (even if I spend one of them as a student)

Kim, ick!!! You had to work yesterday?

Our last day with students is this Friday. But today and tomorrow the 12th graders have finals. Underclassmen finals are Thursday and Friday. I am enjoying very easy days, as I teach mostly 12th grade classes and many of my students exempted the final. We have a workday Monday.

I am going to celebrate the end of the year by going to see Rick Springfield in concert!!! (ok, laugh if you want. But I know we just have to have some more former Rick Springfield teenyboppers on our bb). Any other fun celebration plans?

The last day of school for me in Arkansas was May 25th. We had regular classes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Thursday, teachers had a work day and "checked out". The kids came in Friday morning only to pick up report cards and everyone was home by 9 AM. YEAH!!!!

Kim, Why did you HAVE to work on Memorial Day? I thought that it was a National Holiday? I am confused!!

We go back to work the last week of August, which is nice because we have the first week-3 days with the kids, second week- 4 days, and the third week - a full week. We eeaassee into the school year. Now if we could get some air conditioning, it would be the best!!

WE had to work Memorial Day because in all its wisdom, the district decided that would make an excellent inservice day.

TO celebrate no school, we are having a dinner party for 9, followed by a party for ???? this Friday. (Although, only 3 of us are teachers, so I guess the rest just want to come to a party)

I work for a school in SC. The last day for the kids was May 22 and for teachers it was May 23. I work part time so I finished on May 22 with the kids. Our kids start back Aug. 9, teachers Aug. 1 or 2, I can't remember. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
