I am so excited! As some of you will remember, this year, right before school started, my endrocrinologist sent me home with a glocose moitor and told me that if I didn't do something ....and do it quick, that I was well on my way to becoming diabetic.

I was so upset and scared at the time and a lot of you offered me advice, links to read and even sent me information...valuable information via email...
My Glucose levels are so much batter when I started. I was shocked to see myself having 300 days...just a couple of times, but enough to know there was a real problem here.

This morning, I got on the scales and I have lost 25 pounds! ...since school started! That seemed like a long time to me, but doing Weight Watchers and going to the gym...something I don't particularly look forward to, but really miss if something comes up and I can't....

My doctor gave me a number that I needed to be by the time I come back in early January. TODAY! I met that number and now have the pleasure of working towards an even lower number. My husband told me there was no way I would ever make the doctor's number. My friends told me it was unrealistic and not to get my hopes up....BUT I PROVED THEM ALL WRONG!

I AM JUST DOING THE HAPPY DANCE! And Y'ALL helped!
Thank you so much!

That is awesome... now just keep up everything you're doing!!!

I had gestational diabetes so I know all about the numbers. Did they give you the Hemoglobin A1C test yet? That shows how your blood sugar is being controlled over the past 90 days. My physician recommended this last year just to make sure she wasn't missing anything, post-gestational diabetes wise. Luckily, I was in the normal range.

Congratulations on your numbers and your weight loss!! :)

Congratulations.

I have often considered giving every person I meet a glucose monitor and have them check their values after several meals.
I think being told something is one thing. Actually SEEING what your body is doing is quite another.
I bet there would be tons less people who are overweight if they were reminded, scared and understood what food does to the human body.

Keep up the good work.
The old joke is that losing weight is easy. It is KEEPING IT OFF that is the hard work.
I know you can do it. Keep the monitor close by! :)
