I just got home from Marshall's and I'm soooooooo excited! There it was sitting all by it's lonesome a 3.5 All-clad (my line) pot with lid for $49.99. (Retail $125!) Just the size I wanted to get next! I felt like I won something. A couple small scrathes on the bottom, no big deal!
When I got home my husband was like, "Oh, a pot" I told him since my birthday is in a few weeks it could be my birthday gift. He said no way was he giving me a pot for my birthday. So I didn't argue just cleaned it and it's ready to go.
He doesn't get it! But I knew you guys would appreciate it!

Woo Hoo, Tiger! Way to go! That's definitely the GOOD BUY OF THE WEEK!!!! (Maybe the MONTH! YEAR??!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif )
BTW, have you seen the newest All-Clad (the Copper Core line)?! It looks like stainless, only if has a full copper AND aluminum core and a jazzy decorative copper "cut out"... ohmy, it is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Although I don't need anything, I may have to get a piece (or TWO?!!) at the All-Clad sale next weekend!!!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

TJMaxx is supposed to be a place where All-Clad can be found, according to my stepmom who RAVES about the stuff.

Someone else on this board has made some All-clad finds at TJMaxx. I'm sure it's like Marshall's hit or miss.
What I would really like to do is get a double broiler. But I'm a little confused. Do you buy just the insert? And if you do what size pot does it fit into? Maybe Lynn B can help. You're the All-clad expert as far as I'm concerned!

Tiger,
Well I'm not Lynn - but found this on Amazon. They sell the double boiler insert. You can also buy replacement lids for your All-Clad if you happen to break one like I did - oops!:
"Suitable for use with any 8-inch-diameter pot or pan, this beautiful, heavy, durable double boiler specifically fits into the 3-, 4-, and 5-quart saucepans and casserole pans in All-Clad's cookware collections. The exterior has a mirror finish and the interior is highly polished so it's naturally stick-resistant. A rolled edge facilitates dripless pouring. Its polished 18/10 stainless-steel handle is riveted to the insert for strength, grooved on the top and rounded on the bottom for comfort, and holed in the end for hanging on a hook or peg. The long handle stays cool on the stovetop. Although the insert is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. Like all All-Clad cookware, cook's tools, and kitchen accessories, it carries a lifetime warranty against defects.

TJ Maxx and Marshall's are owned by the same company. However, depending on where you live, is dependant on the kind of products you get there. It is hit and miss for almost everything. But it doesn't hurt to keep your eyes open - when you least expect it, that's when you find the deals.

Janet- thanks for the info. An insert should fit into my 3.5 qt saucepot than.

Back before Christmas I found several pieces of All-Clad at TJ Maxx. Over a six month period I have been able to find an entire set of the stainless which includes: 8 qt stock pot, 1.5, 2 and 4 qt saucepans, 8 inch and 12 inch omelet pans, 3 qt saute pan, and 4 qt chef's pan (looks like a smaller wok). It took a while but I saved a bundle!
The only additional piece I might want is a 10 inch non-stick omelet pan.

laden- I think I remember you doing that. Weren't you the one running from one TJMax to the other? In fact if that was you it was you posting that info that made me check Marshall's when I was there. Thanks

I have both a TJ Maxx and Marshall's close by my home. I'm going to have to check these two places more carefully. Fortunately, they're in the same shopping center as my grocery store. I'll let you know if I come across an All-Clad deal.

Tiger, that was me. We have 6 TJ Maxx stores in the Nashville area. Every night I would go to a different store until I found what I needed. I saved tons, but never calculated the money I wasted on gas!
It also helps to make a friend at TJ Maxx. They usually don't know what's coming in but they can tell you when new shipments are scheduled to arrive.
