my refrigerator is getting too full - half empty salad dressing bottles seem to be this week's culprit. although a lot of times, i'll make a yummy vinaigrette, sometimes, i just want to reach for a bottle (of dressing) and pour something delicious on my salad - too often, though, i try something new and end up *hating* what i've purchased...

so, what are your favorite salad dressings? low-fat/light suggestions would be awesome - but, hey, sometimes a full-fat solution can do the trick too! (or am i the only person who craves a full-fat, white and creamy dressing once in a while...)

The BEST Fat Free Ranch Dressing I have tried is the Best Foods brand, which back east is called Hellmans. Hidden Valley Ranch doesn't hold a candle! Also love their nonfat Zesty Italian.

I've come to appreciate my own concoction of Balsamic Vinegar and Lemon juice. Adding a touch of Olive Oil helps the dressing stick to the greens.

DH is a salad dressing junkie. I have three opened bottles in the fridge, and NINE unopened bottles in my pantry. He can't pass up any great looking salad dressing that's on sale. Problem is, I think a few expired last year! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Girard's Fat Free Cesaer is really good. (triangular glass jar)

Trader Joe's Low Fat Creamy Cilantro dressing is great! Especially with lighter salad ingredients such as a fruit marinated grilled chicken.

We use Trader Joe's low-fat Blue Cheese and Bernstein's Fat Free Cheese and Garlic Italian. We think that Italian is similiar to the Olive Garden's.

I use to buy Marie's Light Ranch, it was sold in the produce section. Haven't seen it in awhile and so I've been trying some CL recipes instead.

I am a closet 1000 Island fanatic, and I love the Light Done Right by Kraft.

Girard's makes a reduced-fat champagne dressing that's slowly starting to appear in supermarkets (I've always been able to find it at specialty stores, but spotted it at Safeway over the weekend). crc77 may want to check it out.

I don't use fat free dressings, as that xanthum gummy feel gives me the willies. Instead, I use an olive oil/balsamic type vinegarette. My favorites are the Silver Palletes'(sp?)one and Paul Newmans.

Anything Lite by Ken's! Lite Ceasar, Italian, Blue Cheese and my favorite (which I recently found in the Lite version): Sweet Vidalia Onion! Mmmm-mmmm good!

T Marzetti's Balsamic Vinaigrette is the best. I've tried every no-fat/light dressing in the store and this one is by far superior to anything else.

Our Family Recipe (that's the brand name) Cranberry Vinaigrette. No fat, SUPER delicious, has poppy seeds in it, and reminds me a lot of the raspberry dressing that comes on the salad from Panera. My store no longer carries it, so I order it by the case directly from the manufacturer.

Lately I've been hooked (and my DH as well) on Aunt Annes Natural Raspberry Vinegrette. It is so yummy, and refreshing, i've only been able to find it at Safeway, but no other grocer yet, i'm still looking.
