I don't really love green olives....are they a predominant flavor in the Buttercrust Corn Pie, can I leave them out or would that be too bland? Could I use black olives? I like these much better. Or even adding some diced mild chile peppers instead? I'm not that well-versed on the names of peppers, but I do like fresh, so recommendations would be welcome. Other substitution suggestions? Also, could I substitute frozen corn for the fresh?

I think you could leave out the olives or substitute something else - either way. I could taste them but only occasionally and didn't particularly care for them in this recipe.

I made this tonight without the olives and thought it tasted great. The salsa has a lot of flavor, so I don't think you'd miss the olives.
