Just as many folks enjoy *reading* cookbooks more than cooking from them, surely there are other non-shoppers who have catalogues they can't resist reading, even knowing they won't buy a thing. I had a big stack of mail on my desk tonight and had to spend a little quality time with:
Trader Joe's Fearless Flyer
A Book Passage
Harry and David
Jessica's Biscuit
See's Candy
Williams-Sonoma
and...for the first time ever (did someone here rat me out?)...
Zingerman's!!
What catalogues are you reading just for the fun of it?

I didn't know that Zingerman's had a catalog. I'm gonna check that out. I also enjoy Sur La Table.

We get soooo many catalogs. Most go in the recycling bin, but I like to read these:
TJ's Fearless Flyer
The Territory Ahead
Boden
Title 9 Sports
Jessica's Biscuit
Sur La Table
Crate and Barrel
Restoration Hardware
And in January, I LOVE the seed and gardening catalogs. Nothing like sitting inside on a snowy day with a cup of tea, poring over the seed catalogs and imagining the colors and scents of a summer garden in full bloom. :)

These are the only ones I love to look through. Most of the others go in the paper bin!

For some reason I find this pretty darn funny. My email is blocked, but my husband's company has far more restrictions than I do. He works in IT now and daily I get a running comentary of the funniest sites people attempted to go to at work. Pretty scary that someone at work is checking out a site like prison rape.

We have a lady at the office who gets so many they have to make a regular delivery of her mail and then another mail truck comes with boxes of her catalogs...yes...I said boxes. So I get to read quite a collection. But the only ones I really enjoy are -
LL Bean
Chefs Catalog
Sharper Image (Won't buy anything too expensive but you can get some great ideas)

I like:
Penzey's
The Wine Enthusiast
National Geographic store (incidentally, they could probably do more good if they'd stop paying postage on crap they send to me)
Sur La Table (is that pronounced like "table" or like "tobb"? curious, and not French...)

The French pronounciation would be something like this: sur-lah-tobb-luh (or something like that).

I miss this one.
Ask them to put you back on the mailing list. I haven't gotten one since Owner's Manual No 36 (Fall) but he's back in business again.
...or you can read it online: www.jpeterman.com . :)

Victoria is getting a MEC Natasha! I am stoked! :p
One backpack I got there in university in 1980 lasted for over 20 years!
I like the RR mag too. I wish we had the selection you guys have. (have I said that before? )

Hi Maureen!
I heard about you guys getting a MEC - that'll be one more great thing about Victoria! You are a lucky gal :)
I remember your mentioning the backpack when you visited me - very impressive that it lasted that long! I believe it, based on how some of my gear is faring after a few years of putting it through the paces. It's well made stuff!

Not bored at all :) It was when you, me, and Bethany were driving to the St. Lawrence Market, and Lake Ontario was kicking up something incredible.
I'm happy, in fact, to have remembered that little fact - these days it sometimes seems I forget everything! :p

Are the above titles the exact names of the catalogs? Meaning, could I find the web site and request a catalog (not that I need another catalog). These sound interesting.
Thanks,

I feel silly. I thought J. Peterman was just something made-up for Seinfeld. :o
I like the Gaiam catalogue.
